I don't necessarily think that the results will be better, I just think the team we roll out this season in terms of talent will be better.

It's impossible to know one way or the other as to how far we'll go.  Here's what I do know.

 

-Arguably the best young core in football

-Top ten QB that is the mostly physically gifted qb alive right now.

-Best defensive front 7 in football.

-Continuity in the coaching staff

-A better number 1 receiver then we've had the past 3 years.

-A very solid interior O line

 

There's also no reason to think that our roster is set.  We haven't reached cuts yet, and there we'll be players floating around on the waiver wire as well.  After the coaches evaluate our weaknesses there's no reason to think they wouldn't pick a player up that could help in those weak areas.

 

We do have the third toughest schedule in the league on paper.  Could be very possible we might go further in a wild card position this year as opposed to the bye last year.

the next hump will come in the first preseason game when our offense looks terrible and people freak out again and talk about tanking the season.

 

i am not convinced that our offense will struggle to get in the endzone this preseason. with so many tall, huge receivers and Cam Newton, and a better running game, i just dont see us struggling.

 

We couldn't resign Mitchell, Ginn, and Cap because simply put, that would have been a Hurney move. 

 

yea i heard people right after the playoff loss that were comparing Gettleman to Hurney. while i will admit there are some similarities, it is moves like those with Mitchell, Ginn, 89, and Captain that show me that Dave Gettleman is NOT Marty Hurney

not gonna kill you for it, but the Panthers held teams to 15.1 points per game last year, and our defense has gotten better. just throwing that out there.

I never forgot we were solid. Whenever Smitty left or retired we knew it was gonna be hard (emotionally). But the addition of KB, Cotchery, Avant, and Dickson is really gonna help this offense. However, i am reassured by the camp tweets that they are gonna make a difference.

We play Buffalo preseason game one.....there will be utter panic after that game.

Matchup. We are better suited to dominate a team that runs a vertical pass attack like the Ravens. Buffalo runs a scheme that doesn't allow our pass rush to t off....which puts more on our secondary. Why we didn't look good against Philly last preseason and part of the reason we lost to Buff last year

We don't have a soul on our roster that can hang with Watkins.

I don't think we should panic....bc in reality it won't be any different than last season. But our secondary could be slightly worse....but it is so weak a change there probably doesn't mean much

If we can stay healthy and have a few bounces go our way, there's no reason that our defense alone can't get us to the Super Bowl. If Trent Dilfer and Russel Wilson can win a ring because of their defense, then there's no reason why Cam can't do it. Plus, Cam is a way better QB than the aforementioned.

Those teams had well rounded defenses and an OL.
