norman's problem is in his head not his body.

i would argue he is the best corner we have athletically. he just doesn't seem to get the system we are trying to run. i think he realizes it's do or be cut. so hopefully he balls. because he has the talent to be great.

I'm taking a family day. Heard there were no pads tomorrow. If that's the case I'll resume Tuesday. No practice Monday.

That is fuging sad.

I'm not going overboard yet because it is still so fuging early to tell but I was dissapointed initially when we drafted him.

Nothing popped out. He was good at everything but not great at one thing (minus his initial burst) I'm looking at him as a prospect. Put it this way he ain't no 2nd round like kawaan short was last year. Still tons of time and some players play in games better than practice.

I still think hell develop into a good player, just not sure how much he can contribute this year, he's got great coaches and players around him to learn from. If he doesn't develop then it's all on him

Yeah that's what I was getting at.  The effort definitely looks there from that small video, even his coverage on COtch they communicated a switch and he covered Cotch well and made a swipe at the ball.  Just a great throw.  Everyone is balling out so he might have a little fire in his draws.  I hope he's putting in the much needed effort on the cerebral side as well.

i think it's been said in the past, but isn't he a press-man corner trying to learn/play in a zone scheme?

I would have loved a Benjamin Matthews combo. Was he on the board when we took ealy? Haven't given up on him, just saying.

No he wasn't, the Eagles took him in the 2nd. Allen Robinson and Moncrief were still on the board though. I'm trying to keep tabs on the rookie wide outs during camp. I got a thread going in the draft section. Probably update it as games start being played.

Can we stop over analyzing Ealy's performance so far?

i don't think its over analyzing. it's just analyzing.

lots of people are thinking about THIS years impact. i think it will be minimal. our d line is so stacked he might not play or like others said be inactive for game days. doesn't mean he won't contribute in the future. but it sucks to think a 2nd round pick might not contribute this year. I have not given up hope though. we've just been spoiled last year with kk.

but he did lose badly to a canadian LT. that's kind of bad regardless.

Has he dropped one in practice?? :startle:

Stay positive man.

Just pointing it out, he had some drops at FSU, was wondering if he has been working on his hands, or if our DB's aren't covering well.

BTW, I love KB and hope he can be a terror in the red zone.

I def understand what you're saying.

However, just cause he had some drops at FSU, doesn't mean it was a big deal.

When I guy is such a good player, they have to point out something. And a few innocuous drops were probably it for Benjamin. Nonetheless, that didn't give me [personally] anything to think, wonder about in the NFL, unless it demonstrated itself as a problem. That's what I meant, what I was saying. But I got you! :thumbsu:

I also think he'll be more than a TD maker for the Panthers. I think he'll be a chunk yardage/big play receiver as well.

Let's hope/We'll see?
