I heard Adam Schefter say last offseason that we talked to Pennington's agent but he was more interested in going somewhere that he could be the starter so he signed with the Dolphins.

I have always liked him, and really couldn't figure why the Jets were cutting him when he was still very productive for them.

Just seems weird that we didn't really go after him hard.

People keep saying that, and he still manages to start in this league.

Maybe he doesn't have a Cutler or Russel arm, but he sure is a smarter QB than most out there, and certainly more accurate.

Our passing game relies on the big plays opened up from the running game. I just don't know if Pennington would have fit our offense.

Not to mention Fox and Hurney have apparently lusted after McCown for quite some time.

This. He made this quite clear. Plus we should all know Fox does not want a "QB controversy" in camp. Him having to answer those questions is enough reason not to want to consider that. They plan on living and dying with Jake.
