Am I the only one who thinks the Panthers will be even better this season?

I have no idea what our ultimate record will be but if you can't be optimistic at this time of the year I don't know when you can.  I am hoping for 16-0 because I expect us to win every week against everyone regardless of their record and whether it is home or away.  After all someone has to win each week.  Why wouldn't it be us?  I know, unrealistic perhaps, but isn't fan short for fanatic? Then again I really want us to go 8-0 at home and make it a hard place to play us.

That isn't asking too much is it???  Especially in July..........

It all comes down to Shula in my eyes...will he incorporate more into the offense and put what weapons we have in positions to make plays....I think 2 TE sets will be HUGE this year! It's about adapting and expanding on what we did well last year and tweaking what hurt us.... Your always gonna have strengths and weaknesses but if he makes the right adjustments there's no reason we can't repeat as NFCS champs....we all know the d is gonna hold it down

The Panthers could be better and still go 8-8. Sometimes things don't go your way. The line between winning and losing is very narrow.

I count 7 games last season that could have easily finished differently and we won 5 of them. That doesn't happen every season. Especially in the Carolinas.

Cams gonna have to bail the team out in some games for us to have a winning season.

And I don't mean that as in everyone else on offense sucks, it's just the way it goes. Big time players make big time plays in big time situations. Always has been and always will be the case.

So honestly it's mostly all on cam (lol) if the defense plays like they did last year.

We finally figured out how to win the close games in the 4th quarter last year. Hopefully that confidence carries over. Our Defense will keep us in most games, the Offense has to step up and prove the naysayers wrong.

I believe we will have the opportunity to put together another successful season if we can come with it and stay healthy as a team. Cam has really matured and our front 7 is one of the best in the league. I believe in this coaching staff and i feel that they can and will put us in position to win games. It's possible that we might not get 12 wins again; but i can't see us getting less then 10. This season we put the league on notice, and everyone will realize they we are the real deal.

    • Strange, every news article and tweet I just searched all mentioned waivers. It is definitely his sixth year of at least 6 games. All I was trying to think of earlier was at the vet min could he beat out Bryce in camp next year lol. He's kinda got the old Darnold issue where he can obviously launch deep balls and qb run at a level Bryce will never achieve, but it sounds like he would be content being like a Josh Allen backup who doesn't throw the whole game plan out the window if he has to come in for a series or two. If we had him and for some reason still wanted to start Bryce he would kinda do what Justin Fields was doing the other night with Dangeruss, coming in for designed runs and maybe some play action/triple option rpo things to go deep. That would be so obvious and sad though. At least Russ can still sling it 40 yards in the air with a flick of the wrist
    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
