Andre Williams with a very good game earlier. I swear I need to be a NFL GM. People act like its freaking rocket science to see/know talent. It's right in front of your freaken eyes.

Williams didn't fall in the draft due to his inability to run the ball between the tackles.  Everyone knew he could do that.  He fell because of his inability to do anything else.  20 years ago, Williams would've almost certainly been a 1st round pick, hell maybe even a top 10 pick, but NFL offenses are rapidly evolving and simply running the ball between the tackles is but a sliver of what an NFL RB is being asked to do today.  The RB position overall has been devalued, while at the same time, the required skillset is expanding.  A RB today has to be a jack of all trades.  He has to be able to run the ball, pass protect, run routes out of the backfield and catch passes.  Hell, a lot of RBs end up spending a decent amount of time split out as a WR.  Right now, Andre Williams can run the ball and that's about it.

Dumb coaches fell for GB heavy passing offense. I give it 2-3 more years the most and the old traditional pound the ball offense will be back.

Look at probably the three best teams of last year: Sea, SF, and CAR. All three pound the ball and play tough defense. All three are 1-0 this season too.

Look at GB, NYG, NE, INDY, etc. this past weekend.

There's the answer.

Possibly.  Everything goes in cycles in the NFL.

The NFL (Goodell) is determined to have a league full of high flying offenses though and they're gonna force that to happen through rule changes.  They'll keep handcuffing defenses and tweaking the rules until they're routinely getting games with 60+ combined points.

Yup. And that's stupid.

But, at the same time these DCs do get paid to do their jobs.

The heavy passing offense even with the rule changes hasn't look so good.

Which will unfortunately just lead to additional rule changes. At least that's what I fear.

Teams are more clued into the direction of the NFL than fans are and I think the near universal devaluing of the RB position in the last couple of years speaks volumes about the future direction of the NFL.

Well, there will def be at least two RBs going int the 1st round next year: Gurley and Gordon.
