How is Cam overrated? His wiki page is never ending with accolades and records he broke entering the league. You could make an argument he's had the best 3 year start to a career in the history of the NFL

Carolina was 2-14 with the 32nd ranked offense in the NFL when Cam arrived. Brady was in the best situation possible for a QB. Comparing the teams is laughable.

Comparing the NFC & AFC is also laughable. NE played the Colts, an average team that made the playoffs by default while CAR played SF, a top 3 team in the league. Carolina was better last year, and Cam beat Brady head to head.

Go slurp Brady somewhere else.

Not slurping Richard Cheese. I prefer wins over stats.

how is cam overrated?  wtf how idiotic.  he isn't even considered elite yet by the majority of his staunchest supporters.  compare that to luck who has a bust in the HoF already.  i refuse to click the link to see who else boomer says is overrated because fug any author that is going to just stir up controversy for the hell of like boomer probably is

I think what this comes down to is this...  If you've played sports at any level, you've probably run into it...

 

Say you play a sport.  Say you play the same position as someone else.  Say that someone else is 100x naturally more gifted than you ever have been or ever will be in said sport. 

 

You can go one of two ways - you either appreciate that and play your role in the annals of history, or you hate that motherfuger with a passion so unbridled that it cannot be explained in any of the human languages. 

 

Boomer took the latter route.

Isn't Boomer the one who randomly bashed Cam during a CBS pregame show last year? Then Shannon Sharpe cut him off and started telling at him and pretty much called him an idiot.

Pretty sure it was old Boomer.

 

Yeah, that was Boomer.  I think Marino, Sharpe, and Cowher all kind of set him straight because Boomer started to go off the deep end for a second.  It was a bit of an awkward moment.  The dude visibly got upset because they thought Cam was good.

When Cam came into the league he was a loser QB because he lost games. Then he started winning, and now he does it because of the D and the many elite offensive players on the team making him look good.

 

 

Thats some A-class analyst work there.

Does Can make players better or do players make Can better? What players? He seems to have Cam confused with those young QBs that actually have a supporting cast. That has to be the dumbest anti-Cam argument yet.

I also liked how he said Trent Richardson was traded "midway through his second or third year." I guess taking the time to figure out which one it is was asking too much.

This is just a classic strawman argument.

Boomer invents a narrative that Cam Newton is widely considered an elite QB in the same tier as Brady, Manning, etc. Then he calls that imaginary narrative overrated.

The irony is that Boomer's actual statement (besides the players around him nonsense) is pretty much the consensus among most observers. Cam is a good QB, who could be elite, but isn't there yet.

I think 3 straight champ games went over your head. Yes both teams lost. Excellent observation.

I prefer to win more in the playoffs than stats. It's that simple. I'm sure Cam would take lesser stats but more wins as well.
