If I plagiarized his tweets, then yes, I would.

I don't think you did it maliciously or with the intent that he claims, but if you posted a Tweet that's word-for-word what he Tweeted then you definitely stole his poo.

He's a writer - his words are his assets. I don't think you'd Tweet one of Zod's pics without saying he took it, would you?

I don't have a dog in this fight, but it sounds like it comes down to whether or not you credited him... you say you did, he said you didn't.

What were the original tweets in question and that should answer it?

I've deleted all the tweets I 'plagiarized' out of respect. This is how it went down.. During Hardy's court case JJ was flooding twitter with updates. I made a tweet saying "These following tweets are not my own. Credit goes to Jonathan Jones and I proceeded to make 4 tweets. He was obviously upset I didn't credit him in every tweet individually.

I mean I see why you did that, and I also see why he's upset... if I quote a tweet, I always add "RT" and keep the other users handle on it.

I say let it slide and make sure you add RT to future tweets.

JJ's coverage of the Hardy trial was outstanding imo and I told him so.

All JJ had to do was DM me and say he wanted me to RT his tweets and that would've been the end of that.

No offense, but if feels you're stealing his work then he doesn't owe you the respect to handle it privately. And let's be serious, he just called you out on Twitter and blocked you. It's not like he called the plagiarism cops on you.

True enough, but that apparently wasn't good enough for him.  idk, maybe you weren't the first to do that and he didn't like it, or maybe he'd had a bad day... who knows?

In general I think reporters have gotten a little over zealous with the "breaking news with twitter" thing... I mean, don't get me wrong, it's a great source for things exactly like the Hardy trial, but it's not like they're writing a published paper or something, so again, I see both sides of it.  He apparently felt like you were stealing his work product.

It may be the fact that you have "Freelance writer/reporter" in your profile...  if some regular shmoe like me had done that he wouldn't have cared as much?

it is what it is, I just don't find it to be plagiarism when I clearly stated these next few tweets are from Jonathan Jones, credit goes to him.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
