Lloyd's as FG Kicker

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the pics from the Observer and notice one picture with Baker holding and Lloyds kicking a field goal. The thought of him kicking FG's for us is very intriguing. We have John Kasay arguable one of the greatest kickers ever to play the game. But even John cannot kick forever. It would seem to me that Lloyd could learn from the master himself. Has anyone been watching this action? Does Lloyd have what it takes to be accurate like Kasay.

Sometimes instead of walking off the field outside of Kasay's range. Why not give Lloyd a chance to nail one from 55-65 yds. Granted we would have to prevent a run back if he missed. But I don't see thunderfoot leaving too many kicks inbound to play. Make sure time will expire during the kick so the opposing team cannot do a hail mary and reverse the strategy.

I think he has the foot to break the NFL record. With the Master teaching him.. WHY NOT?

i haven't seen it myself CBD, but a lot of the people doin camp updates have said that Lloyd has been kicking some FGs, and that he has been putting them right down the middle.

then he must have made some MAJOR adjustments since I watched him this past spring in OTA's...

I am one who saw him kick 10 in a row through the uprights from 45 or 50 yards with no problem on Friday. Obviously it isn't even close to seeing him kick in a game with the added pressure, but they definitely weren't knuckling and some would have been good from 60 yards. Now last year I would totally agree his field goal kicking was not good at all.

Seriously....Down by 2 at the end of the game. Within 60 -70 yds. Do you throw the Hail Mary? or Do you give Lloyd a chance to win it? The chances of it getting blocked are high as the trajectory would have to be a drive. But He has the power to it.

I would think this percentage is higher then throwing a Hail Mary.

Agreed?
