Pats claim RB Tyler Gaffney off waivers

Here's a fact. A draft pick is better than no draft pick. We basically chose to throw away a pick rather than selecting someone that could at least provide depth at tackle. A lot of people questioned the pick when it was made. Now it looks even more foolish. If you saw potential in him, you keep him. Us waiving him basically means we never really cared about the pick.

And the Patriots just racked up an extra draft pick for no cost.

Let's remember this was the draft day Gettleman took off. Not like he cared much about them anyway.

Then the question becomes would you keep him on our roster knowing he is out for the year when we need a healthy running back ? Like I've told you before you need to chill and see how things play out instead of complaint after complaint but it's gone in one ear and out the other...

When the 53 man roster rolls around I am sure there will be an obvious choice of someone the Panthers could have cut and resigned later. Won't be too long to see that play out.

I realize the Pats are being douches here, but was it worth the risk of losing our draft pick to sign Fozzy fugging Whitaker? Yeah, it's just a 6th rounder and bla bla bla, but it's actually more than just Gaffney since this means we'll probably spend yet another pick on the position next year and so on. Also, did we trade up for Gaffney? Can't remember.

I know I'm late to the party...but why do we care about a 6th round pick again? Not many of those pan out do they? Was Gaffney the savior we needed to take us to the playoffs? I don't know, I never watched a minute of him playing in college.

The teams that win year in and year out are the ones that hit big in rounds 4 through 6. So, yeah it is a big deal unless you enjoy being mediocre like the Panthers since their inception.

Panthers did not trade up for Gaffney. They traded up for Bene.

I don't understand why this isn't the feeling around here right now.  You guys are blaming the Patriots for this?  WTF?

they found a player they think could make them better sitting there ripe for the picking and decided to bring him in.  they're just doing their job.

Ah yes, remember all the big name 5h, 6th and 7th round draft picks on the Giants, Ravens and Packers their SB years?

I acidentally double posted so I'm gonna edit this post with another thought of mine.

He's a 6th round draft pick. Chances are he was going to be Just A Guy if that.

Yes some of us had high hopes for him. But you know who has high hopes for the other 6th round draft picks? The fans of the other teams that picked in the 6th round.

That is why they win year in and year out even though I hate them you have to respect that part of their organization.

If you had a high character and high potential role player staring you in the face with no previous injury history, would you grab him and put him away for the future? Hell yeah.

If you had that player in your hands, and looked to your competitors and said, "I really like the kid. Does anyone want him?" Wouldn't that be a really idiotic move?

Gettleman better have a 53 man roster riddled with talent and not a sole on that 53 man roster that is average/expendable. Otherwise, this is a horrible move.

Gettlemagic! It is all an illusion! *poof*
