Pats claim RB Tyler Gaffney off waivers

Reaching for a tackle late in the draft is better than wasting a pick that you're going to cut before the season begins.

I'm not asking for him to strike gold at every pick. Just not piss away picks. That pick could've been used on a tackle. Reaching or not. It would've helped with depth. Now we have nothing.

he does it every thread man don't waste a post... It's unfortunately a fact that there's just people that love to complain, and all you can do is ignore them because no matter what facts they get they are determined to be that way dude. On another note I liked Gaff but it's not like we can't draft another late round bruiser next year because with that injury he won't even see the field anyways so same situation although next year I say we take a tackle in the first and pick up a high quality back in the 2nd to replace our two grandpas and RB

Waive a healthy player who has no chance in hell of making the team vs losing a promising player the patriots...yes. If gaffney was not a promising player we would be upset about loosing him.

So waive a healthy player that might contribute on special teams or practice squad, or at very least play during preseason this year to keep an inconsequential 6th round pick player that is done for the year?

Promising how?

What did he do during the otas and mini camps that set him apart from any of our other HBs?

With who was left? I'll take my chances. No one who remained remotely attracted me, and neither did the front office.

We're rolling the dice here but we did the same thing last year and did just fine. It's unfortunate yet if Benjamin, Ealy, Turner, Boston and Bene pay off then I'm ok with us skipping that position for this past draft.

Someone is better than nothing. Might as well get someone at our weakest position, tackle, before wasting a pick.

Here's a fact. A draft pick is better than no draft pick. We basically chose to throw away a pick rather than selecting someone that could at least provide depth at tackle. A lot of people questioned the pick when it was made. Now it looks even more foolish. If you saw potential in him, you keep him. Us waiving him basically means we never really cared about the pick.

To be honest there are very few good GMs in the NFL.

Most teams would be better off letting their fans choose their draft picks than their GM and scouting department. Most teams are lucky to hit on 2 of the picks in their entire draft.

A good GM makes picks from the 4th to 6th round count. And they do very well in free agency with veteran steals and stock piling for the future.

The Ravens and Patriots have 2 of the best GMs in the NFL. And they make it known when they quickly pounce on another GMs stupid mistake.

Then the question becomes would you keep him on our roster knowing he is out for the year when we need a healthy running back ? Like I've told you before you need to chill and see how things play out instead of complaint after complaint but it's gone in one ear and out the other...
