2014/15 Barclays Premier League Season

Can looked so calm on the ball today. Not rattled in the slightest. Even moved the ball forward really well, much the way Agger used to.

And he's only 20!

I'm intrigued by Can and Markovic, I really think they are like fufu said, turning the corner. Can is highly regarded by some very good football minds. He is comfortable with the ball and that pass to Moreno was Gerrard-esque.

Can is going to be a huge part of our midfield for years to come. The fact that he plays with such poise at 20 is pretty amazing. I'm still not sold on Marko. Some good ability, but he's so raw. Dispossessed pretty frequently and caught out trying to do too much. He'd be drastically improved if he just got his first touches down.

To welcome in the New Year in style, NBC Sports Group will air the first-ever Premier League Breakaway show as a full slate of games takes place on the first day of 2015.

Following on from hugely successful breakaway shows for Major League Soccer in past years, the Premier League will now be front and center on January 1 as all the best action from the eight games which kick off at 10 a.m. ET will be shown simultaneously on NBCSN.

In addition to airing Stoke City vs. Manchester United at 7:45 a.m. ET and Tottenham v. Chelsea at 12:30 p.m. ET on NBCSN on New Year’s Day, Premier League studio host Rebecca Lowe will host the “whip-around” show (similar to the NFL RedZone) at 10 a.m. ET as every goal from around the grounds in the PL will be shown. You will not miss a thing. Here are some more details on the special show:

NBC Sports Group’s Breakaway program gives viewers the most compelling action at any given moment in real time, including every goal in every match, so viewers won’t miss a single beat. The eight matches in the 10 a.m. ET window on New Year’s Day will feature seven of the Premier League’s top 10 goal scorers, including Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez (9 goals, third-most in BPL) and Queen’s Park Rangers’ Charlie Austin (8 goals, tied for fourth-most in BPL), as well as Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard and Manchester City midfielder Yaya Touré. At the end of the telecast, Premier League Breakaway will feature a comprehensive recap of all the action.

Arsenal is too injured to do anything in the league. I never seen so many injuries on one team ever. Arsenal bench is full of 17 years olds.

Ref also screwed Arsenal. Should of been straight red for Southhampton player for tackle from behind right outside the box to prevent Alexis 1 on 1 with a goalie. Instead he gave yellow... Wtf?

I'm rooting for Brendan but it's not a good sign to see him continue playing Gerrard to accustom to what Gerrard wants.  Could have just been a coincidence but we were great against Swansea, best we've looked all year.  He shouldn't have changed the lineup at all, but he did he had to put his precious captain back in and we looked infinitely worse.  Gerrard hasn't worked in that deep playmaking role all season yet he continues to play him there.  That's a bad sign,he had no reason to change that starting lineup except Skrtel because he couldn't play.  Just when I think Brendan is getting things figured out... ugh.  Honestly wouldn't complain if Gerrard doesn't get a new contract. He's obviously a legend and he's still a master on set pieces and a good passer, especially when playing further up the pitch.  But he's just not helping us other than that.  Shocking how much slower we looked in the midfield today, and I'm sure the players are tired but there's not an excuse for that kind of a drop-off.  Lucas and Gerrard has not worked all year, it never will work but Brendan won't learn.  And Balotelli not being on the bench!!! HILARIOUS.  I can't even fathom what was running through Brendan's head when he made the call on that one, Balotelli hasn't been great yet but he has looked better in recent stints and he's a hell of a lot more talented and dangerous than Lambert or Borini.  Frustrating can't even describe it.  Gifted 2 penalties at home against the last place team and we were lucky to get a draw.  Just when you think we can start gearing up for a run at top-4 with Studge coming back we drop 2 massive points.  Bleh, at least we aren't Everton.
