Day 3 Training Camp Thread

OL does not bother me with the progress I have seen. A healthy Turner, Kalil, and Silatolu may be the best C/OG combo in the NFL. So much better than what the Panthers went into the season with last year. OT is looking good. They do have 2 of the best DEs in the NFL to be evaluated with. If Chandler can keep looking good at LT through training camp, we do not have much to worry about. The OL for that matter is practicing against the best front 7 in the NFL. So, come game day they will be ready.

 

I do prefer Chander at LT and Bell at RT. Speed rushers on Bell coming from the blindside worry me. Bull rushers on Chandler coming from the blindside can be slowed allowing Newton time to improvise.

 

nate is strong as fug.

 

i think he can handle the bull rushers and he's got the agility for speed. that's why im praying to god he is our starting LT come week 1.

Did not see that with all the muffs Saturday.

 

Point is you do not have time to train up a punt returner. Either they can do it or not at the start of training camp. That is what they get paid to do. If they are making mistakes fielding punts without players in their face, they will not cut it when the real games roll around.

Have a coworker who is diehard fsu fan. Kept telling me we hit on a gold mine with Benjamin. Said Winston really took him under his wing the year before he hit the big time and that the guy just needs a qb who cares and connects with him as a person to elevate his game. Said the sky is the limit for him. Good thing we got cam.

 

Lol well it seems like Benjamin went to the perfect team suited for him then.  Him and Cam have been like BFFs ever since he stepped into Charlotte.  It was love at first sight.

 

Hell I wouldn't be surprised if Kelvin was rooming with Cam and they had like a bunk bed of some poo and stayed up all night playing Madden.

Things are getting even worse on the punt return front. Making them do push-ups now when they mess up. That is high school conditioning. This is pro level. Pay someone who can catch punts! Critical!

Making a player do push-ups when a mistake is made is not done for "conditioning". It is done to embarrass the player and get them to focus.

yea he went into more detail about words being exchanged between the two about KB's work ethic and focus on football. the offseason before apparently winston and kb were inseparable.

I'm officially very very fuging worried about our return game from the tweets I've been reading.  We need to find someone who can catch the fuging ball fast.  I don't even care if they don't even get any yards, I don't want to have to go through the Joe Adams poo all year.

 

May need to trade for a return man if you want the Super Bowl.

 

If you look at all the teams who get to the Super Bowl, they have a strong return man. Mistakes at that spot are costly to offense, defense, and field position. Especially when the playoffs hit.

 

Any chance the Cards will deal us Ted Ginn back? Cards have no shot in that division. Give up a fourth, a fifth and a seventh rounder for him. Gettleman tossed that away on Bene and Tre this season. At least Ginn fills an immediate role, and he would make the Underwood, Pilares, and Brown competition moot.

 

Gettleman's Skype in draft day picks all look shot for the season. The undrafted rookies are looking better than Ealy, Bene, Tre, and Gaffney. Bittersweet I guess.
