look since your not getting it yes Steve has some left in the tank for sure ,but that was never the issue the issue was his contract, and the fact that our franchise is trying to get good YOUNG players not wideouts with like two years left of play ,and with him gone this allows Cam to be a leader, and can you name two wideouts he helped develop ? No you can't because he was a terrible mentor unlike Avant or Cotch , the fact is 89 is my favorite player EVER but dude let it go , parting with him wasn't just a good move it was the only outcome in his case that made sense, we saved a ton of cap and freed up the leadership role, which is far more important than I think you realize. Your kinda being a baby about this dude and as a fellow 89 fan take my advice just watch ravens games and understand that it was a necessary sacrifice that I am thankful Gettleman had the guts to make

Obviously Smith is a more skilled WR than anyone we have on the roster. There are going to be times this year where we will miss Steve Smith. His tenacity, the clutch catches etc.. We need to just accept that. But at the same time there are going to be things that KB can offer to the team that Smith simply can't. Our WR core as a whole has shifted to much bigger players. KB, Bersin, Dickson, B, Williams, and Cotchery are all big physical targets.

 

That said I hope Smith has a huge year and gets even more respect league wide. He'll always be a Panther. It would have been sick to have him and KB on the team.

Greg Olsen led the team last year in receptions, yards, touchdowns AND 20+ yard gains. We all know that Smith is our GOAT (so far), but dude it's over. Past tense. History. We've got to embrace the rag-tag group that we've got and pray that KB lives up to his enormous potential.

 

The past is past, bringing it up over and over again just makes us sound like we're still grieving over an ex-girlfriend who dumped you after the prom.

Yeah Steve smith is still my all time favorite player and the greatest to ever suit up for this team.

Steve Smith gave the Panthers a GREAT DEAL of things!!!  Glad one of those things was a Good Bye Kiss.. His Sucker Punches his almost getting and sometimes getting unsportsmanlike flags.  Sorry but will not miss him but wish him the Best in what ever he does.
