Blue Chips

Blue Chip means a stock that performs well in good times and bad. I think the top 10 definition makes it too easy to be considered one. Top 5 seems closer or guys who have consistantly produced over several seasons.

Interesting conversation Verge! And I agree with your list.

But, I think if you're talking college "blue chips" the top 10 criteria seems fitting. But due to the smaller rosters in the NFL, I think I would consider a blue chip to be a top 5 guy at their position.

Rice averaged like...2 yards a carry last year, that is the definition of awful

Doug Martin has not played in a year and was only pretty good as a rookie

Alfred Morris plays in a zone blocking scheme in which almost any RB can get the yardage he gets, he is not special in my book. You will find that out this year.

Ehh

Adrian Peterson

Jamaal Charles

Lesean Mccoy

Arian Foster

Eddie Lacey

Matt Forte

Demarco Murray

Marshawn Lynch

Frank Gore

DeAngelo Williams

That is about how my top 10 goes. Honorable mentions would include Reggie Bush, Fred Jackson, Zac Stacy, and Andre Ellington.

I'd probably put CJ Spiller, Alfred Morris, and L. Blount all ahead of Dwill too.

Take your pride out. Cam is not a Top10 QB.

I'd take the opinion of NFL players who voted him as the 6th best qb in the league over yours any day of the week.. And why would you even start discrediting cam just to spite people when discussing wide receivers?

49ers: Kaep, Staley, Iupati, A. Davis, V. Davis, Boone, Gore, Willis, Bowman, Aldon, J. Smith, Miller, Boldin, and Crabtree.

Not sure how you only got 7.

Not sure how you consider Boldin and Crabtree blue chip players, They are borderline #2-3 wide outs. If you're looking for Blue chip WR, look at Megatron, Dez Bryant, Larry Fitzgerald, Josh Gordon (not anymore but yeah.). Etc.
