Now it's 2-4 weeks with Stewart

I'm still a bit miffed we spent the 13th overall pick on a rb when offensive tackle was the far bigger need, we'd just drafted Deangelo in the first, and we could've drafted a running back later.  Of course, that would probably have meant we got Otah at 13, and I don't know that that's any easier a pill to swallow, but our cap wouldn't be sodomized by two players who probably won't be on the team in two years.  Ugh.  I still hate you, Marty Hurney.

I believe Clady was the unanimous want for T that year. He went one spot ahead of Stu. I was really high on a RB out of Tulane that year. A guy by the name of Forte. He eventually was drafted in the second round by Chicago, exactly 1 spot after the pick we gave up to trade for Otah. Now, Otah was great his 1st year here but unfortunately injuries happen.

Its interesting to see what could have been with a little bit more fortune. We could have had Clady and Forte. Duane Brown was also drafted after Otah. However the Bears also drafted Chris Williams with their 1st rounder right after Stu and he was a bust for them. Swings and roundabouts my friend.

What is also a kick in the nuts is that the Eagles were able to parlay the 1st rounder given up for Otah into Jason Peters, one of the best T's in the league today. They didn't do much with the 2nd rounder tho.

Sometimes as an armchair GM I sit back and wonder what this team would look like if I was the guy pulling strings. I wanted McNair and George over Collins and Biak. I wanted Jeffery instead of Amini, I wanted Allen after Star fell to us in round 1 even tho I loved KK too.

Can you imagine if we had Jeffery, Allen and Benjamin as our WR's this year? It would probably kill us cap wise in the future but at least they are great players unlike some of the stiffs we pay for underperforming.

It will probably take the same amount of time to heal as training camp.

It will be amazing how the injury goes away the Wednesday before the first game of the regular season...

... But then he'll be out of shape for the first four games and probably get hurt again because of it. :(

To his credit....he was running really hard the game against the Saints before his got the knee injury. I'm fine with the dude taking camp off to see some more of that.

But to contradict myself...I don't see this "injury" as a problem, but I don't hold out much hope he'll play in at least 10 games either.

Remember when td took a massive paycut because of all his injuries? Yeah Stewart should do the same, but he won't.

This is straight robbery. You would think the guy would feel bad

Same thing when 34 got paid.

Why you don't extend RBs to big cash

He just comes off like a Ricky Williams type to me. I don't think he's lazy. I think he just has other things he wants to do and football is just a means to an end. He'll miss the game when it's gone though and regret he wasted an opportunity to be truly great and remembered.
