Now it's 2-4 weeks with Stewart

So how many more seasons does he need to be saved during the offseason while his teammates are busting ass in practice? 5 more? It's the same thing year after year.

He's definitely a bum. I just don't think this injury makes him more or less of a bum. I'll at least give him until the regular season since this isn't uncommon for him.

When he can play, Stewart is a legitimate threat.  He's got the balance of an elite gymnast and insane body control.  Defenders find out quickly that you have to wrap him up to bring him down.  Trying to put him down with just a hit or a shove is like trying to knock over a Weeble.

No, he's not worth the contract he's being paid (few guys would be) but there's little doubt that the team is better when he's available to get on the field.

I wish I were more confident in that happening this season, but I can at least call myself hopeful.

I'm still a bit miffed we spent the 13th overall pick on a rb when offensive tackle was the far bigger need, we'd just drafted Deangelo in the first, and we could've drafted a running back later.  Of course, that would probably have meant we got Otah at 13, and I don't know that that's any easier a pill to swallow, but our cap wouldn't be sodomized by two players who probably won't be on the team in two years.  Ugh.  I still hate you, Marty Hurney.

I wanted us to take Otah with that pick.

But I don't get paid millions to asses college talent.(and that is why)

Remember when td took a massive paycut because of all his injuries? Yeah Stewart should do the same, but he won't.

This is straight robbery. You would think the guy would feel bad

Stew did take a pay cut - his base is only like $750K. The problem is the way the bonus was structured.

True. Shouldn't have said that. Stew hasn't proven he's a scumbag, just a lazy rich dude that doesn't want to work for his money. It's just extremely extremely annoying.

I don't think he's lazy.

His durability is the big question mark right now,.

    • Does anyone know what the beginning of the league year means in terms of signing FAs? Anything? Will we just see a handful of guys released into the FA pool?
    • This is an excellent synopsis!  Our WR group is a 34 year old man who has had a hellova career, but can't keep it up forever. A draft reach who only produced 1 season in college and was seen as a project with a tremendous ceiling IF he hits his potential. I really hope that 2024 was essentially a redshirt year for him. And finally a UDFA that didn't get any real time until we were more than halfway through last season. AND THAT'S ALL. We need at least 3 more players, one of which has to start day 1.
    • Oh good grief. You can give him credit for the good without just glossing over the bad and pretending like we were not absolute hot garbage at certain points last season when the games still mattered and people were just complaining to complain. Make no mistake. While we hold Morgan in regard and like him a great deal because he's a former franchise player. He has to prove he can build this team through the draft just as much as any Panthers coach or player has to prove it out there on the field. There is nothing wrong with acknowledging these plain truths.
