Home Run Casting Choices in Comic Book Movies

the whole purpose of batman was to be a realistic hero.   you've latched on to one small segment of the character's history, and allow that to define it for you.  to me, ledger's joker was much more faithful to the joker than the animated series.   or any other joker.  the slapstick joker was a result of comic book censorship.

like the assholes that still think of adam west when they think batman

I personally don't get the love ledger recieves for his role as the joker. Don't get me wrong he is a great actor and i love him in other movies such as the knights tale. Perhaps i'm blinded by the 1990s batman animated series and the arkham games, for me the peak of all thing batman related. So i'm used to mark hamill doing the voice, plus that batshit crazyness of how he is potrayed in the comic. That overthe top joker wasn't portrayed to me. It was a lame more realistic tone down version. To me bane is an intellectual who also has a tank on his back that inserts venom into his blood stream that makes him as big as the hulk and powerful. The one we got in the movie wasn't that bane to me. Eckhart as two face didnt do anything for me either. Doesn't two face have a split personallity, and his good and bad side fight back and forth, hence the use of the coin? To see which peronsallity type wins over in the situation? It wasn't the same as the comic. Felt rushed.

Bale? Sorry but i couldn't relate to him at as his portrayal of bruce. Infact bruce wayne in the movies was boring, but to be fair bruce has always been a stale character. I believe marvel does a better job with characters alter ego. After all its not the suit or the powers, its the person in the suit that matters. I also hate the voice he did as batman, could barely make out what he was saying most of the time. Horrible and was not needed. I prefer michael keaton as batman/bruce.

I like my comic book movies to stick to the fantasy of the comics. I don't like the super realistic take. Takes away from what makes the comics so great in the first place.

I feel sorry for you...Nolan took a comic book movie franchise and created a timeless classic with pretty tight plotlines throughout three films.

I personally enjoyed the Frank Miller version of Batman which was darker and Nolan latched onto a lot of the madness in those stories.

I do like Tim Burtons batman movies but they do not hold up well.

A perfectly casted Michelle Phifer as Catwoman in those Burton movies I might add.

I do like Michael Fasbender as young Magneto.

I was actually surprised that Dave Bautista, former WWE wrestler if you didn't know, played the role so well. I've read where the sequel will focus on Drax a little more, so the guys behind the camera must have been impressed as well.

He still wrestles but after GotG not sure how long. He took a couple month break to promote the movie but will be back. I thought he was great as well and surprised. He did better in the movie than in the ring lol.
