Yep, most people only do it with towers, but you can do it with creeps and towers. Creeps below 50% health can be denied towers below 10%. You don't gain gold for denying, but you prevent the opponent from gaining gold, and you reduce the experience for last hitting the creep/tower significantly.

It's fun, steep learning curve with some of the heroes, but there's several that are great entry level guys.

Denying was in dota1 before lol was spawned from dota. They actually removed a lot of things such as denying to make lol easier for casual players.

You can indirectly deny in LoL. It's just more pressure oriented. LoL meta also requires jungle presence for better gold distribution. Can't really pull off double support strats like in dota.
