Jake gets boos at fan fest

Exactly, most of them barely have high school educations, if you look at the natives in the city of Philly. I think of all the NFL cities, that is the lowest percentage of college grads. Second, they really don't have anything else to care about. Their fat ugly wives, dumb ass kids and unfulfilling jobs. Yea, Sundays do sound great don't they?

Oh, they really showed their asses draft day when McNabb was picked up. Does anyone remember who those morons wanted to pick that year?

Is that your opinion or Colin Cowherd's? Just curious.....

ok

Just giving you a hard time....not meant as a personal attack (that is why I threw in the :D)

As I previously said, I respect a fan's right to cheer or boo as they see fit. I have never been a big fan of booing my team, even when they disappoint me. So, I will always take that side of the discussion.

I look at the fans like those of the Lions or the Eagles (no disrespect to you JR), who make a career out of booing and turning on their teams. They just come across as pathetic to me. Again, this is only my opinion and is not worth any more than anyone else's opinion.

i just love how all the people who despise the Panther fans who are not enamored with Jake as the starter LOVE to repeat over and over how "Jake is the starter and will be so for some time"...as if anyone was unaware of that.

That always seems to be used as the nuke in every little discussion.

It seems like pointing out the bloody obvious doesn't sink in after everything else that's stated.

I can understand not liking the reality of the situation from a hater's perspective so why try to beat your head against a wall when it doesn't change anything?

The haters are pissed off that he's there on the roster making the $$. The rest of us are just accepting the reality of the situation and moving on. It doesn't make my life better to grumble about what I have no power nor a sphere of influence to change.

It is what it is.

No offense taken...I have booed a play or two in my day but Philly is pathetic when it comes to that. They have always been exceptionally harsh to thier teams but now it is known as the Philly thing to do because all the media coverage they get for their booing. It will never change now and I hate it. I blame the Rich Kotite era.

As for the Lion's fans .....who can blame them?

"making a career" out of turning on their teams is not the same as having a strong opinion that Jake Delhomme is not a great QB. Anyone would have to be pretty daft to think I "turn on my team" just because of that opinion. I think making a career out of turning on your team is a bit of an exaggeration (and I am being generous becasue I know you were most ly kidding).

Also booing a player for sucking on the field is not "turning" at all. And the Philly and Lions fans are some of the most passionate fan-bases out there and have every right to express themselves. They are not "pathetic" in the least in my opinion. To me its the exact opposite. You sit there and take it without getting a little concerned and that is the epitome of bad fan. Basically because I don't see that that kind of fan has any passion whatsoever.

But there is a fine line. Some people think that the louder they get and the more negative they are the smarter or more intuitive they seem. Some think that the more forgiving and more understanding of poor play they are that the bigger supporter they are and the more "love" they are showing.

Both of those approaches are ridiculous to me but who am I to say such.

Each has to find their own way and none are fit to judge another.

I do not think Jake is a great QB. And, I am all for upgrading at any position that will help the team...especially the QB one.

However, I do not see any options out there that are better than Jake right now.

We very well could have taken Ryan if he had been there when we picked last season. However, the price to trade up was too great. Also, even if you think that Cutler would be an upgrade, he also would not have been worth the price to get him (based on what Chicago paid).

Jake is a mid-level starter in this league. I would put him somewhere around 12-18.

I blame the Rich Kotite era.

There are only two fanbases I know of who have ever cheered when watching their starting QB get hurt. The Eagles with Garcia when they played the Panthers in 06 and the JESTS with Penny the last year he was there. BOTH have had Kotite as their HC. Hmmm....interesting coincidence or THE KOTITE CURSE? You decide.

When the smoke has cleared from this discussion, when nothing but smoldering ashes remain of the Fan Fest carcas that has been gnawed beyond recognition, I recall one glaring truth......

Not many folks down in that lower ball making the noise would be in the stadium on gameday. I don't mean to generalize, but that's just what it was - a free event. People booing a starting QB at a fuging fan fest scrimmage is what you had in that stadium. Not everyone mind you, but enough to be heard. It's got to be taken at face value - do you think the crowd watching one day at Wofford would boo Jake for an incomplete pass or INT? Hell no.

On a side note, what would have been hilarious is for a lower-bowl PSL owner to go to Fan Fest to see what was occupying his or her seats. "Excuse me sir, you're in my seat. I'm going to need you to move" :D

First off, nobody hates the man Jake Delhomme.

Secondly, nobody begrudges the man for making money, it's more of the potential for cap effect and the dedication it shows to him that has ill effect.

And Thirdly, nobody here is talking about what makes their lives better or changing anything. This is not Dr. Phil. We are intelligently discussing how to cheer or boo the team you love and that it is not up to anyone to set limits or pass judgment on what is "right" for another.

I know that summarizing and categorizing these arguments into something they are not makes it easier for you to pass judgment or feel righteous in your personal emotions on the subject, but that in essence is a big part of the problem. Make your point fairly or STFU.

not a fan of a player =/= hater of that player

OK

what does that have to do with what you quoted?

I hope this Panther fanbase booing thing doesn't carry over into the regular season. With all the Eagle fans that will be in the stands for week 1, it is going to be hard to figure out what is going on if both fanbases are booing everything. I would like to know that if I hear booing that it is something serious like McNabb threw his first pass at his receiver's feet or they showed Andy Reid on the big screen and his missed a belt loop loop or something......
