Panthers waive Edmund Kugbila

Can't classify a guy who has been injured necessarily as a reach.

Yes you can. He was a raw, project prospect from a small school who should've been a 6th- undrafted, but was taken in the 4th rd. I know that Barrett Jones has some injuries himself, but gah damn I would've been okay with Jones over Kug. Jones was a top college player, polished, and could played all 5 positions on the line.

What a great pick! Was a bad pick from the start.

Well, on the bright side at least Gman is willing to admit a bad pick unlike Hurney (Fua/AE/etc.)

We really cant asay it was a bad pick or a good pick since the kid never made it out of training camp in one piece. Just bad luck for this young man. Hopefully he can get and stay healthy and get picked up somewhere else next year.

It's not like we didn't know he was injury prone when we drafted him. Swing and a miss for Gettleman, but hopefully we learned not to draft injury prone players who look like a bargain.

this was a reach even if healthy. I didn't get this pick at all. Thankfully round 5 was much better

Just because a player is raw or comes from a small school doesn't mean he was a reach.. You could make a point that every player who gets drafted is a project and is probably raw in several areas.. Even Gettleman said this year that every single WR in this years draft, besides Odell Beckham, had question marks about their route running.  its very easy for most teams to know who the top rated players are coming out.. Its easy to point out what a guy cant do.. But good GMs and coaches can find potential from players that arent as well known..  Its really hard to do, and thats why not every one can hit on every pick, and also why their are only a few consistent winners around the league.

Besides, the only way you could possibly know if any player was a reach was if you saw our draft board and noticed several players ranked higher than him when we made our selection.. I don't think anyone here knows this info.. yet everyone acts like they do.

It seems like hardly anyone around here knows how to manage expectations..

My jeebus, he was a fourth round pick, you guys are acting like we gave up 2 first rounders and Cam to draft the guy.

He was a lineman. They're important, but he doesn't play a position that makes you worry about seeing him again, so who cares? If he was a D lineman with great potential, I'd be concerned. Offensive lineman, eh. Just find another one.

If he doesn't show much in TC, I'm not sure he'll get pass the 3rd preseason game.

What did you expect out of a 6th round rookie sitting g behind 3 different backs? Its pretty clear why he didn't produce. Didn't have the opportunity. Why are people so quick to discard? Is development totally out the window?

Simple. Bc the kid was terrible as a returner.

Maybe he* should be a running back then? Lol mike T and DLo might be terrible returners too.

Look, its just silly to poo on a guy that hasn't even had a legitimate opportunity to show what he can do, through no fault of his own. 7 touches is nothing and who could find any playing time behind THREE solid backs? All in his 6th round rookie year

Now find a way to trade Stewart. Like Kugbila, he plays Offense, so you don't have to worry about him going after Cam's ankles when you see him again.

Since Stewart is supposedly in great shape I would like to give him a chance to play this year.
