Cam Fully Cleared; Stewart Out 1-2 Weeks

I honestly don't see how.

WIth 18M against the cap, even spread over 2 years, we are talking about 9 less per year for a RB not on the team.

We were and still are a laughing stock when if comes to running backs.

Because it saves space compared to his hit.

Now maybe I'm an idiot, but if he stays on the roster it's a cap hit of 4.5.  If cut it will be 18.1 spread out over two years.

So 9.05 this year, and 9.05 next.

If he stays on the team both years it's a total hit of 12.8 over the next two years.

Is I wrong?

His cap charge is like 8 million, with a dead monew of 14 is dead money.

June one let's you split that dead money over two years

You save 1 million to cut him in 15, and have a 7 mill penalty in 16.

At least that's my understanding.

One of us is wrong.

I'm pretty sure we save 6M over the next two years by leaving him on the roster.

We can cut him next June 1 as his cap hit next year is 8.3 and to cut him would be 13.6 in dead, but could be spread over two years for a 2015 saving of 1.5.  However that would be a cap loss the next season of roughly 1 million.

He won't be cut this year, we would lose too much cap space for 2015.  I could see us making him a June 1 cut next year though.

This is the most likely, although it wouldn't surprise me to see him here for 2 more years, as the major savings only kicks in after the 15 season.

I honestly cannot remember any one player having one team in such a choke hold for so long. Boggles the mind that someone in the front office didn't call out Hurney on this move before it was completed.

I don't remember that

There was a stretch where chud kept calling these read option plays, and Dwill struggled with the style or whatever of the play coming out of shotgun or what not. Stew seemed a bit more comfortable and used to it, and generally got a little more yards. (Used to the read option in college)

Not saying Dwill isn't as good as Stew, but during that read option spell he was a bit better for those plays. What I'm trying to get at is a healthy Stew would be a benifit and boost the run game this year. All of our running backs have talent and have different styles. As a defense preparing for these different styles is just another thing to worry about

J-Stew is a better fit for the power scheme we try to run than D-will and Tolbert  due to his combination of speed and power. The hamstring injury seems to be minor and will only set him back 1-2 weeks but he will still participate in some activity. I'm hoping for a speedy recovery and a huge season with the help of Amini-Kalil-Turner.
