Right? At least dwil plays. And he does have some good games, nt worth what we pay him, but stew gets paid millions to ride a fake bike

Last season JStew took a brutal shot to the knee and it buckled so bad that I thought for sure he'd torn his acl and mcl. I understood the long amount of time he missed after that injury. But I'm sick of his nearly constant nagging leg and foot injuries that occur without conact. The man is simply not meant to run, and our days of drafting injured players needs to come to an end. Stew had serious toe problems coming out of college, and Kugbila had knee problems. Enough. Never again.

can someone please help me understand how williams has no more guaranteed money on his contract yet his cap hit for this season at $6m is the 9th highest for running backs in the league?

If it's true, "guaranteed money" means he gets paid no matter what: injured, cut. Without the money being guaranteed, he'll have to play the games to get paid.  The "cap hit" is the projected amount that his salary will affect our cap if he plays all the games and maybe even some of the incentives in his contract. It's an informed guess.

Summary:

guaranteed ---> get paid no matter what happens

normal contract ---> earns what he is paid

cap hit ---> informed guess of the hit our cap will take if he plays all games and all other conditions of his contract are met

He already received all of his guaranteed money the day he signed his contract. It is prorated through the number of years of his contract against the cap.

If he is cut the Panthers save money from the salary portion of his contract, which is usually much less than the guaranteed money hit.

He will be June 1 cut this season

I honestly don't see how.

WIth 18M against the cap, even spread over 2 years, we are talking about 9 less per year for a RB not on the team.

We were and still are a laughing stock when if comes to running backs.
