LVSL QF's: Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks

Recommended Posts

Tip-Off: 4:00, NBATV

So.... we meet again.

After getting dismantled by the Knicks earlier in Summer League the 23rd seeded Charlotte Hornets have gone on a run to advance to the quarterfinals of the LVSL Tournament.

The Hornets have finally found their groove offensively but they're going to have to improve defensively if they want to beat a Knicks team that could have up to five roster players on it.

Having made it this far, we might as well win this thing.

Hornets Roster

PG: Mickey McConnell, Roberto Nelson, Jerome Dyson

SG: P.J. Hairston, Rion Brown, James Bell

SF: Justin Brownlee, Justin Jackson, DeMon Brooks

PF: Noah Vonleh, Josh Davis, Jamie Skeen

C: Cody Zeller, Jordan Bachysnki, Jarred Shaw

Knicks Roster

PG: Shane Larkin, Langston Galloway, Brandon Triche

SG: Tim Hardaway Jr., Shannon Brown, Zane Johnson

SF: Cleanthony Early, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, Will Sheehey

PF: Jeremy Tyler, Travis Wear, Cameron Moore

C: Jordan Henriquez, Jordan Vandenberg

Inactive: Cole Aldrich

Shane Larkin is such a steady good player. He is going to be a ten year vet ala a Derek Fisher type guys who is just a solid leader wherever he is. Slightly more talented than Fisher too.

I think Noah Vonleah staying on the floor without fouling out and playing with more balance is a huge key.

Also it is amazing how less Jerome Dyson is playing we have been on a winning streak...have I mentioned i think he is horrible?

    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
    • Justin Fields’ fifth-year option was declined by the Steelers in April. Without a new contract, he will be a free agent in March. I am pulling for Bryce Young to look good the rest of the season, but if he doesn't, how many of you would be on board for the Panthers to try signing Justin Fields?
