Why couldn't DG let Hardy walk and use that money to sign a proven solid vet at tackle or 2?

 

I believe we offered Anthony Collins a contract...would have been a great signing but ultimately he chose to sign with the Bucs. Wish we could have offered a little more though considering we still have cap space and at least one hole at tackle.

I wish people could accept there's a chance we might not be that good this year. I'm obviously hoping for the best, but I hope people relieve their expeectations, so it makes us so much more excited if we do repeat.

The real questions in my mind are the Oline and Run game. Those are what will be issues this year and determine whether or not we can be contenders.

if he had then the issues would be "Panthers will be terrible because they have no proven recievers, questions in the secondary, and no anchor in the dline due to the loss of Hardy"

 

moral of the story is... the media and other fanbases just want to take a dump on the Panthers in their own ignorance. at this point, the insults are rising high and adding fuel for the team fire of the Panthers. i fully expect our boys to come out of the gates ready to punch everyone in the mouth for all the blatant and purposeful disrespect this offseason

I expect there will be a couple games where we play elite secondaries and simply will not be able to convert on obvious passing downs because our WR's won't get open. But I think we're going to be good enough  to win most of the other games.

This is not even on a bad day either. It gets even worse on some days. It's like the people who post on there suffer from little d*ck syndrome that have to spew their anger on ProFootballTalk comment sections.

Still have Olsen and Cam's wheels.  Hopefully an improved interior OL and healthy Double Trouble will help pick up the slack by actually providing us with a legit running game.  Cam's scrambling ability has largely hid our terrible running game on the stat sheets.  Rushing numbers look good on the stat sheet, but take away Cam and all of a sudden those numbers aren't so great.

I saw it and thought about posting it, but 1) it's PFT and 2) rankings come right in behind conspiracy theories and alien abductions on the list of things that matter so...

 

fwiw 10th is pretty fair imo but I looked at the list of who's already been ranked and they're gonna have the Saints higher than us so fug them.

 

I'm not a big fan of rankings, but I was amused we came in as high as we did.

Joke. Mark my words:

The panthers are a 4 – 5 win team.

Yes, they closed strong last year. But this is this year. And these are the realities:

SS was on the decline, but he was a leader on this team. The other receivers are question marks. They could be extremely talented, but I doubt it shows through this year.

That offense line is a dumpster fire. I should know; ours was that bad last year. And god forbid they have an injury to the line… they’ll get Cam killed.

Finally that “stout” defense won’t be at full strength either. Greg “I beat women who dump me” Hardy will at least be gone for 8 games, probably longer. And didn’t they lose starters? Finally Decouldnt is there starting safety…

4 wins. Maybe 5 or 6 if they get some bounces.

 

That's a comment on there that had many likes and few dislikes... He lost me at Hardy being gone "for 8 games, probably longer." What a complete retard. People who don't follow the Panthers really think they know a shitload about our team, but they don't know a damn thing. No chance we get less than 6 wins, 10-6 is likely, and 12-4 again is possible.

The health of Newton needs to also be a worry. Until we see him moving in live action, it should remain a concern.

Nothing would cripple this team more than a banged up Newton, IMO.

Not really worried about it to be honest.  When he initially had the surgery, there was a lot of talk that we'd be lucky if he was ready to go by camp and that he could significantly miss a good deal of camp.  He seems on pace to be full go by the start of camp, though I'm sure we're going to be cautious with him.
