What team in the East is deeper than we are?

Henderson plays shooting guard.

We drafted a shooting guard in the 1st rd.

Then we spent the majority of our cap space on the best free agent shooting guard.

We've also hung onto our backup shooting guard from last year.

There were multiple reports from credible sources that had us trying to move Henderson to several different teams over the last month or so.

Henderson will not be on the roster for opening night. The majority of the off season moves have revolved around the SG position. The team has clearly showed they don't value Henderson and viewed him as the weak link on the team.

If Hendo is on the roster he will play at least 20 min/ game.  I wouldnt mind moving him in the right deal, but if we dump him for nothing we will be weak on the wings.  I seriously doubt we can get rid of him before opening night

Lance has no issues defending SFs if he has to, he could easily play next to Hendo (or Neal/ Hairston)

Bringing in Lance & PJ sealed Hendo's fate. He's not gonna be here on opening night.

Who is gonna trade for him?

I don't know? If the Knicks can trade Ray Felton, Charlotte can move Henderson. If nothing else they can cut him. He won't happily go sit on the bench after being the starter for years. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if he's went to the team and asked to be moved.

I would be fine with keeping him, but the team has clearly shown they are ready to move on from him.

i was starting to wonder, but now you made it official.  you don't know what you are talking about.  can quit responding to you now.

cut him?  lol  and pay him 12 million bones to not play for us.  that makes a lot of sense.

Wouldn't be the first time they've paid a malcontent player to stay away, nor the most they've paid.

If you think Henderson would happily go sit on the bench, you're delusional.

I am not a Henderson fan by any means, and haven't really liked him since we drafted him.  Seems like he is exactly what the scouting reports said he would be and thats a good rotation player.  You have to realize the value for Henderson though and if you look around free agency wing players are being overpaid.

Nick Young

Jodie Meeks

Ben Gordon(lol)

Avery Bradley

Kent Bazemore

Trevor Ariza

Chandler Parsons

Gordon Hayward

Some of these players are actual good players, but some of them I would rather have Henderson.  Yes Henderson makes more than he should, but if he were on the open market someone is giving him close to 12 mil for 2 years.  You can't be upset about that contract.

Henderson is a class act and a good player, I think he'll be fine getting paid 6 mill off the bench.  In fact, he may enjoy it more.  He won't have as much pressure and he'll be competing against lesser (mostly) players when he's in there.   He may actually flourish out there.  Plus it's a short deal and if he proves himself he can get another deal somewhere else for probably more (since cap is going up).  Also, at least we're a good team as well.

We should be happy to have him off the bench, that's why the Spurs dominate, great bench players.
