Cavs Now Offering Wiggins In Deal For Love

Recommended Posts

@JeffZillgitt: Indeed, Cavaliers have put Andrew Wiggins on table in their effort to acquire Kevin Love from Timberwolves who been firm in trade demands.

The latest offer could include Wiggins, power forward Anthony Bennett and a first-round pick. Center Brendan Haywood might be included in the deal to make it work contractually. News-Herald

The Cavs also would be able to hang onto starting shooting guard Dion Waiters in the latest proposal. News-Herald

However, a source said James wants the 6-10, 250-pound Love on the roster. And, what James wants, he normally gets. News-Herald

For those wondering who Zillgitt is, he works for USATODAY Sports.

Not only from an on-court perspective, but Wiggins will still be on his rookie salary for a few more years, which would allow Cleveland to put even more pieces in place.  Love will demand a lot of money after this year when he renews his contract.  I think you have a much better chance for long-term success by keeping Wiggins and those other young pieces.  This kinda smells like desperation.

Big mistake.. Having Irving, Wiggins,James etc.. Is better than Irving, James, and KLove

Thompson and Verajo are good starters so why get rid of young talent for James to leave in two years (because there's no support/bench around him)

Cavs are the ones with leverage. TWolves are going to lose him after this year if they don't trade him.

I wouldn't put him on the table. Give up other players on the team and future picks.

it's possible the Warriors offered something that would only be bested with Cavs offering Wiggins.

Love is a top 10 player in the league now and he is only 25 I think. The guy is a machine down low and I'd a far better complement for James. Wiggins could be great or he could be Gerald Green. If the Cavs want to win now then they trade for Love. Plus he will sign an extension with them.

    • Because Young is so historically bad that it just skews too far outside the normal deviations that perspective is easily lost. That or they just don't want to believe it.  The struggles last year would have been more about the infighting and poor roster building or idiot owner's hiring practices than with Stroud. He wouldn't have been as good but he wouldn't have been ruined here and the pressure was not Carr-esk if you take out the Young created portion from his playing style.  Dude is a young guy on a team coached by a Defensive guy building a good D but not building up the O in year 2 of his HC 1st time gig. Seems familiar... Go look at his output this year and not just some crappy Thursday night implosion game, I would take that in a second and never ever look back every time without a shred of doubt while eating 4 of those games a year with a giant smile on my face.
    • There is zero reason to sit him if he is ready to go.  Putting him on a shelf and attempting to protect does him no favors.
    • Stroud us nit the first QB thus franchise has missed on. He also won't be the last.
