Jordan should get a lot of credit for the turnaround

He takes buckets of poo from the media and casual fans ("LOL KWAME BROWN!") but the last couple of years, he's really figured it out and become a genuinely good owner, I think.  He jettisoned some of the "yes men" that had always held the team back, he surrounded himself with better basketball minds, he's spent money on great talent.  And of course he put in the money for the name change, which has completely revitalized basketball in North Carolina.

This is the most optimism that has been around a Charlotte basketball team since maybe Baron Davis was here.  So kudos to you, MJ.  Helluva job.

This is gotta be one of the quickest and mist dramatic turnarounds in basketball history...

2 years ago we were 28-120 & the laughing stock of pro sports with a terrible identity.

Now we have one of the most popular & famous identities & a team that can fight for a championship (or at least Finals birth).

It really is amazing.  Two years ago after the worst season in NBA history, it was hard to keep optimism and enthusiasm high.  Then they got Jefferson and Clifford and announced the name change, put together a respectable season and made the playoffs, now just had a really solid draft and signed Lance Stephenson.  With the possibility of Boozer still on the table.  And even though we didn't get him, they offered Hayward the max just to make the team better.  Management is really killing it right now.

For the 1,000th time... Kwame Brown was the consensus #1 pick that season. He was being called the next Kevin Garnett, possibly. Jordan did what most GMs would've done by picking him. The media criticizing Jordan for choosing "the next KG" is rich. Jordan's problem with Brown was coming back to play and putting too much pressure on a High Schooler who wasn't ready for that from the greatest of all time.

As for Adam Morrison, you'd have been hard pressed to find someone in "white Charlotte" who didn't want Adam Morrison. They were calling into local sports radio all the time saying he was their guy, and then gushing about "the 'stache" after he was picked. Jordan actually preferred Brandon Roy, but went with Morrison due to the local buzz around him. It was a business decision.

Jordan's problem was doing what people wanted. Now those same people criticize him for what they all thought was great at the time? His growth is he now has people working for him who will make those decisions.

I'm really starting to think you are KT. Or are you just another race-baiting bigot?

He deserves total credit.  I agree, Kwame Brown was the choice that year, so was Morrison.  Morrison was one of the greatest college players ever and was a deadeye shot, it wasn't a bad pick at the time, and everyone wanted him.

Last couple of years have been great.  It started with getting Cho in here and now he's running things, which was probably the plan all along.  Finding Clifford was a good choice too.  He then put the money out there to get Big Al and now Lance.

Great offseason now, not sure what else we could do.  Getting Boozer would be even more awesome.

"Race-baiting bigot," lol?

No, I just have an excellent memory, and the rest of you know that what I said is 100% true. Day after day, white men in Charlotte calling WFNZ in glee over Adam Morrison.

They were as wrong as Jordan was, now suck on that.

Who tf is KT?

I think he has been unfairly scrutinized as an owner and executive. Maybe my memory is off, but hasn't he been our majority owner 4 years now and we have been to the playoffs twice.

And the moves we made when rebuilding helped set the table for what we have been able to do this off season. In hindsight, although we were poo for two seasons they were brilliant moves. And I know Cho has a lot to do with all of this, maybe even more than MJ, but if you are going to give him the grief when we fail, then he deserves praise when we do good as well

I didn't know Jordan liked B Roy.  Damn that would have been a fine pick
