Carruth has been used by some as a precedent for how the Panthers might react to this situation.

Smitty was an elite talent so the reaction to his multiple transgressions were complicated. The circumstances were different but the bottom line is that he viciously assaulted two people who could have just as easily pressed charges and there was no question about his guilt.

Hardy's situation is more sensitive because he assaulted a female but I promise you that the Panthers reaction is complicated based on his talent. If Wes Horton was in this same situation he would have been cut already.

But the reality is that he isn't signed for next year hasn't agreed to a long term contract and I have heard rumors that gettleman had concerns about his emotional maturity before any of this.  So to assume he is likely gone is hardly a leap when it is likely that either Hardy or Johnson was going to be gone anyway.  This just helps tip the scale more toward Hardy being gone.

I would be sad if we are loosing Hardy, but you can't act like this as a Panthers.

Well judgement is in..now convicted and a felon (pending appeal). Truthfully, he took the Kraken moniker and ran with it(maybe way to seriously).He planned to market it and cash in.Being involved with drugs violence,and crazy people has just killed that.Can he recover from this...to a degree perhaps..but it won't be here in Carolina.When he was drafted,one knock on him was the "character issue" concerns.They have now reared their ugly head.Its been fun Greg, but the black and blue is not in your future.C.J. just became much more important to this franchise.

Yeah it still is in his hands given we won't be doing anything with him until after the season.  And the court hearing is still upcoming.

Let's just say maybe not out right crazy....but may tend to go to the dark side when hammered and provoked into a crazed state...there are happy drinkers and mean ones....effects every one differently...I would think they are looking into the coke situation also...unfortunately they may have their concerns..guilty by association...I am not saying he does it just doesn't look good (so don't go all ape shat on me for saying it).

I wonder if it is possible that JR may invoke the clause in his contract "conduct detrimental to the best interest to Pro football" or would Hardy's appeal keep him from doing so ?

Delete your account if you can't handle debate and opinions other then your own..obviously you have not been around out of control drunk indivuals and the level of stupidity and violence that can occur. If you think the organization isn't concerned about the drugs then you are definitely blind in one eye and can't see out the other.I am not bias against Hardy,but I am a Carolina Panther fan.Any ONE PLAYER who causes problems,gets arrested or suspended is causing a negative impact on the team.
