It is true that when a man who is 6'4" and 290 lbs who is a beast of a man and plays a violent sport for a living is accused of assaulting a woman, he is likely not going to be given much leeway.  Particularly when he admits threatening her and restraining her.  He wasn't found guilty of hitting her or even touching her per se.  He was found guilty of two misdemeanors for apparently threatening her person and communicating threats.  All of this extreme crap about standing there while you get beaten is just that, crap.  If he felt he was threatened or abused he should have filed a counter suit for battery or assault.

 

Like I said earlier, he is smart to seek a jury trial because if the posts here in his defense represent how the general public think or feel he should be acquitted no problem.  I keep forgetting how ignorant the general public is many times and how few times folks actually make decisions based on fact and reason instead of emotion and self-justification.

Mostly here you're seeing Panther fans with shaded glasses on.

Remember half of NC are fans of other teams, not that that will decide innocent/guilty.

The bigger picture is what total outcome will be the determining factor if JR has Hardy on the roster or not this year.

 

Spending 90 days in jail is nothing compared to losing his huge payday I suspect.

The general rule is that if you are innocent, get tried by a judge who will rule based on the facts. If you are guilty then go with a jury trial because you should never underestimate the ignorance of the American public.

 

As for Hardy, he was guilty and got what he deserved.  Hopefully this will be a wake up call.  I agree with those who say he is gone. Assault on a female is a big problem for JR.

 

Right on but in this case I don't think a jury trial outcome will be any different and he's out there swinging in the wind that much longer. Not guilty from jury trial is not going to change the perception and another guilty verdict hammer fugs the kraken.

 

Take your medicine and go on.

Bottom line. There was enough evidence to convince the court and that's enough for me. This was no witch hunt. The man has the best lawyers money can buy and he still got popped. Accept that your favorite football player might not be such a good dude. He messed up and he'll pay the consequences. This doesn't mean you can't cheer for him on Sunday, but don't talk about somebody's character because they make different choices than you do. You can do all the coke you want but that doesn't mean somebody has a right to tell you they're going to kill you and rough you up. A lot of bad decisions made in this case and Hardy made his share. Rack it up.

So if his appeal is successful and this gets overturned by a jury, will that be sufficient enough for you to be back on his side? Just curious.

If you hang out with rough woman then whose fault is that? You deserve what you get then.. I make it a general rule not to hang out with aggressive mentally unstable woman who can kick my butt. So do you apparently, so again I don't see any of your post is relevant to his situation.

So if a guy hangs out with rough women, he deserves what he gets?

If a woman is dressed like a slut and drinking in a hotel room with a bunch of horny men, and wakes up to discover she was raped, does she deserve what she gets?

Simply hanging out with rough or shady characters should never be an automatic indictment on a person for what happens next.

Ever hear of putting yourself in someone else's shoes? You should try it and then maybe you wouldn't feel almighty. I think looking at things from a different perspective is very relevant. Hardy may be a monster of a man, but that doesn't mean a psycho b-word can't harm him.

really it's an unfortunate situation and I feel like we (a bunch of football fans sitting comfy at home with nothing better to do ) should let the poor guy handle his business :/ wether he is guilty or not I feel like its wrong to sit on the internet and judge and hurl insults and tease and pick as most people on here are doing most likely for attention :/ many parade the same old fake politically correct response "burn the evil woman beater " they are both human and nether one seems all that smart this thread is disgusting hopefully this doesn't happen again

Yes. We have a perfectly capable media to do this for us.
