Hardy court thread : for all things that happen in court today

His life isn't changed at all. He's still going to get paid. He's still going to get pussy thrown in his face. Explain how his life has changed? The only change should be positive, keep better company, keep control of yourself.

He's now got the term 'domestic violence' attached to his profile.  Guilty or not, people are going to look at him through that prism from now on.

He probably will still get paid, but after this year it won't be by us.

Will he learn to make better decisions?  Hope so, but it's not guaranteed.  Some guys just never learn.

Not being able to get out of Jury Duty 24 or more times would not be something I would admit to anyone.

Dozens was clearly an exaggeration. I'd estimate somewhere around 15-20. And I didn't actively try to get out of it since my job sucked even more than jury duty back then.

You or I get charged our life is changed forever. Unfortunately it doesn't change poo for a pro athlete

I don't think money insulates from trouble as much as you describe.  If it did, we likely wouldn't be discussing this story.

Personally I'm hoping his life does change, kinda like Cris Carter's did.  Maybe this'll smack him in the face and he'll grow up.

But sadly, maybe not.

What does the X-Files have to do with this?

Do you honestly think it's going to effect his ability to get paid or stop girls from flocking to him. Because I don't.

If that's all that matters in his life, then no.

And that would likely also mean that he won't grow up, won't learn to make better decisions and will likely be back in another courtroom for one reason or another somewhere down the road.

And if that turns out to be the case, then i won't be sorry to see him walk at season's end.

Unfortunately that is the case with roughly 75% of pro athletes. Sad, but true.

So no one is ever justified in filing a lawsuit?

Honestly, if Hardy's guilty of even half the stuff he's been accused of, he deserves a lawsuit, and a lot worse.

Who knows?

That is not what I am saying.

And if he is guilty, then you are right. I, personally, am of the opinion that his version of the story is more credible than hers.

What I am saying is that if you say in one breath that it is not about the money, but then immedatley start screaming lawsuit, it gives the impression that it was in fact about the money.

The bold I absolutely agree with.  "Enough to convince a sitting judge" carries virtually zero weight for me.  I don't have a whole lot of respect for our judicial system these days.  Too much activism, too little respect for the actual law.

I dislike activist judges as much as anyone, but like most on here, I've never paid any attention to this particular judge until today.

I'd need more evidence than this particular trial to judge her career.
