Zeller is ass. Will always be ass. Should have drafted Noel. But they want to win and look where we are

Zeller looked great in the summer league last year.  If he's not going to take it seriously this year he shouldnt have gone, but to be honest IDGAF what he does until the regular season.  Hopefully he is smart enough to figure out that if he doesnt produce this year he is easily replaced by the new rook

The problem with the comments, as has been said, isn't that they aren't accurate.  The problem is that the truly great players - guys that strive to be the best - have a competitive edge to them that's obsessive.  They don't like getting shown up by anybody doing anything - basketball, card games, checkers, whatever.  If you're humiliated in a game, even at Summer League, it should piss you off.  When PJ was playing outrageously bad in the first game, you could tell he was angry.  Zeller comes off as "Eh, whatever" which rubs a lot of people the wrong way.  The cliche "I'm going to continue to get better, work 110%, blah blah" stuff is fine, but he's got to get an edge to him or he's going to be nothing but a bench player (or worse) for the rest of his career.

 

It's even more frustrating when you see a guy like Nerlens, who we passed on for Zeller, coming back from a devastating injury and really impressing against these SL guys.  I know a lot of people didn't want Nerlens because of his lack of offensive game, but I still think he's gonna be a solid NBA player.  I'm still torn on Zeller.

Lol..i think the Zeller we saw toward the end of the season is closer to the real Zeller..i cant judge front court guys who have to play with Jerome Dyson who cant pass, shoot, finish or see the court. Amazing he is a 20 + point scorer overseas.

Also Zellar was one of the top 5 players in Summer league last season..so dismiss that but take his first game coming off a bit unprepared(wedding) is his be all end all?

Are there questions about Zellar yes..but he is hot anywhere near a bust..esp in that draft.
