Why Nate Chandler is the LT of the future

I've been on this Chandler-wagon for some time and if one of a few things this staff has proven us right for so far is coaching up talent they find (This is also why I'm pumped about a brand new WR group). Nate has the talent and seeming football IQ, athletic, great size..is totally a mold under the current reigns. He reminds me of Bakhtiari a bit but more of a real tackle.

And I think the "Hurney brought him here" idea is faulty outside of a select few with big contracts. He's still here for a reason.

Yea that wasn't my intention. I just meant dg didn't sign the guy a la victor Cruz and the giants. They've stayed with chandler because you don't pass on the opportunity to have a guy with his kind of athleticism. I think he's a year early then what they wanted because of gross retiring but he has all the tools and he's a smart guy. I think there will be some growing pains but I think he'll settle in nicely.

Been giving big Nate props since last season.

Kinda predicted him having a real opportunity to be our LT.

Not that I'm always right, but it's nice to see players that work hard, develop.

Your roster can't be filled with all high draft picks and big free agents.

Also if he wins the LT job I think garry Williams is a sleeper to usurp bell at RT

I'd be strangely ok with a Chandler-Silatolu-Kalil-Turner-Williams line. I'd definitely feel better with that than with any combination of Bell and Chandler on the outside.

Without cam and luke? Imagine that team and how far we would have been set back. We're talking lions/ Matt Millan poo

He also helped build a team that went to the Super Bowl and an NFC championship, drafted gross, hardy, DLo, CJ, Kalil, etc. He wasn't a great GM by any means and he made some terrible moves but he wasn't near the level of ineptitude of millen, cerrato or gene smith.

So IF Chandler works out I will never question DG again. If he ends up filling our LT need with a cheap contract then I will begin wearing my pants up over my nipples.

I hate to feel like we almost have to have him become something he shouldn't be for us to have a good season.

But that's how I feel, and I am really pulling for the guy.

Maybe look at it as we have to mold him into what he should have been all along. If he starts and or rotates on the OL then he has accomplished more than 99% or career long offensive linemen from college/ high school that never sniffed the pros.

The fact that he is in the position that he is is amazing.
