I agree. Don't know what the panic is for.

They really haven't improved, at best you have a lateral move and at worst the team isn't as good in an improved eastern conference. PJ and Vonleh aren't going to get a lot of minutes, that's it..... Plus the team is essentially capped money wise for the next two seasons and is a borderline playoff team.

Aren't they in the ~$13M under the cap range?

To be honest I couldn't watch the season (out of market) just followed the box scores.  And glued into our playoff run.  However our biggest loss I've heard is McRoberts, (however I didn't see anything irreplaceable in the playoffs that I recall.) We played legitimate TEAM ball, no one player besides Al carried our team. CDR has a huge following and I see people begging for him to come back on his Social Media....but I literally CRINGED AND HATED to see him get the ball in our series. (i.e. him handing the ball to Wade to end a game -__- )

Indiana- Still going to be a playoff team with George/Hibbert/Miles/West and possibly Stephenson.

Miami- Still going to be a playoff team with Bosh/Wade/Deng/McRoberts/Napier/Granger

Toronto- They've lost no one and were the third seed last year. Will probably still be a playoff team with Lowry/DeRozan/Patterson/Val

Chicago- Added Pau Gasol. Derrick Rose will also be back. Will still be a playoff team with Rose/Butler/Gibson/Gasol/McDermott

Brooklyn: Lost Shaun Livingston and Paul Pierce, still has Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. May miss the playoffs due to age.

Cleveland: Added James and Wiggins. Will make the playoffs with James/Irving/Wiggins

Washington: Replaced Ariza with Paul Pierce. Will make the playoffs with Wall/Beal/Pierce/Gortat

Atlanta: No significant losses, will have Al Horford back. Will make the playoffs with Teague/Millsap/Horford

Charlotte: Replaced McRoberts with Marvin Williams. May make the playoffs with Jefferson/Walker

Who is the odd team out?

    • Fans are fed up with this organization's endless string of failures. And, while Morgan's less than a year into his current position, everything he's done is barreling down the same path shat out by his predecessor. If we're just pointing out this alarming lack of discrepancy between the performances of two GMs, it's really not hating. He's just proving to not be a good hire. And, hey, it's alright, because whoever Tepper hires next will, at best, only suck a little bit less. I don't mind people who are optimistic and hope Morgan turns out to be better than he's been thus far. That'd be great. None of us are rooting for him to fail. However, the embarrassing pattern of decisions persists. And it's not a good look.
    • You have to view everything that was done in 2024 through the ‘eliminate excuses for Bryce Young’ lens IMO. It only makes sense that way.     If you allow for that, you will see that Diontae fulfilled his purpose.
    • The Panthers' beat writer called the Johnson trade return "a warm bottle of RC Cola." If you're quick to discount every bit of news that disagrees with your view, maybe your view is the problem. Morgan deals himself a bad hand and he deserves every bit of criticism for it. Fitterer was the worst GM ever, but Morgan is a very similar brand of awful. Certainly when it comes to trades since 2021, Morgan's body of work makes him at best, only one of the worst negotiators in the history of North American professional sports. That's simply pointing out the numerous shortcomings he's put on display. If I point at a guy who shot someone and say "he murdered a guy," I'm not hating on him -- I'm pointing out what he did. If Morgan wants to not be labeled an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better, simply stop being an incompetent clown who makes 31 other franchises better. Or, wait until Tepper makes him the fall guy after Evero.
