I know it would be a lame choice but I really really love The Dark Knight Rises. I know people like to point out plot holes in it but I thought it was a beautiful ending to the story. They left it ambiguous. Does Bruce return as Batman? Does Robin become the new Batman?

Also for the first time in the Batman movies, maybe even all comic book movies the hero is beaten. Batman gets his ass handed to him by Bane. The character received a dose of reality from the "never could be beaten" nostalgia of Batman. But the cool thing about it was that eventually Batman comes back to face Bane again, knowing he could very well lose. He was stronger when he got out of the pit but anyone watching the fight knew he still wasn't enough to really outmatch Bane. But Batman faced him anyway because he had to.

I don't know what it is but i hate the dark knight movies. I think its because they decided to go the "lets make it close to real as possible" that turns me off. I want the comic book fantasy aspects in the movies as well. Joker for me will always be mark hamill.  The villians in the movies was just real guys, i want joker getting in a accident and having his face turned white ans so on. Not a guy that looks like he put makeup on. Plus him going batshit crazy laughing as he shoots you in the face or pummels his own henchmen to death with a steal pipe, basically i wanted the comic book/ animated series but darker version. God bless his soul but heath ledger didnt do it for me.  Same goes for bane. he was a guy just wearing a breathing mask, supposed to be big as the hulk (venom into his bloodstream).

Liked the early 2000 spiderman 1 and 2 movies.

How is it that noone has said the 1990 ninja turtle movie? It actually takes scenes from the comics and puts them in the movie. Ralph replacing leonardo getting his butt kicked on the roof and falling through the glass, casey seeing this and deciding to help them, aprils apartment going up in flames, donnie and casey working on the truck, etc. I honestly think its the best comic book/super hero flick. Granted int never got the sequel it needed after all the parents complained about it being too violent.  But when no one knows that the turtles in comic book form are killers than what do you do?

Really difficult not to pick the Avengers regardless of the thread's stipulations. It totally changed the way superhero movies are now though of, both in development and by the public. It also rescued us from hoard after of hoard of "gritty, realistic" attempts at comic movies which is ultimately saving the genre.

That said, there are other great ones out there.

I find it kinda hard to evaluate the Avengers as a single movie because you don't get to where they are without a set of introductory "build up" movies paving the way.

The strategy for that was sheer brilliance.

Not a single mention of the best superhero in existence.(didnt see it anyways ) No super powers yet full fledged badassery.

The Punisher

Love The Punisher, but there has yet to be a movie that does him justice.

Tom Jane's "Dirty Laundry" short is arguably the best live action treatment of Frank Castle to date, but it's only about ten minutes or so long.
