Sporting News Report: Stephenson battle down to Hornets, Pacers, and Mavs

Just my opinion but I think all these reports are being based off of the Sporting News report, which may or may not be true.

True but there are some Pacers beat writers who seem to also think we are a threat.

I don't hate Bonnell, I think he is going off of his gut. He did say we weren't going to do anything in FA except target McBob and a back up PG. Then a couple of weeks later we are signing Hayward.

Even the Hayward thing, other national guys broke the story, the Bonnell followed up much later saying he was visiting. He didn't know anything until national media broke the story.

Point being I think he is making an educated guess. He very well be right, but some of the National guys have better league sources than Bonnell, but Bonnell has access to whatever the Hornets tell him. Which right now may not be much.

In short, Bonnell may be right, but I am an optimist and want to believe there is something going on

All anyone is giving are educated guesses.  Nobody knows what the Hornets are planning...they are notoriously tight-lipped.  Even those sources that places like The Sporting News reference are just saying what they think is logical, none have mentioned any inside info on the Hornets.  They just mask their "gut" feelings better than Bonnell, so fans think they have real info instead of their own opinion.

They are getting their information from agents, who the Hornets would be talking to.  The national guys have better access to all these agents than local beat writers.  These guys aren't (usually) getting it from team sources, although some teams are more leaky than others.

Dallas is signing Richard Jefferson to a 1-year deal. If they get him & Parsons I don't see how or why they go after Stephenson. Would they even have the money? Jefferson played well last year & he will probably get a nice little chunk of change
