Hornets Now Players For Deng

Recommended Posts

That's true but the Cavs were a mess and had no leader. I think that Waiters on a rookie contract still is less risky than Lance at a 50m contract

I think we may be able to nab Stephenson with a shorter term but higher salary contract. Like 3 years 33-36 million.

I didnt say anything about chemistry.. someone else might have..

I think with a player like Lance- you let him be Lance.. take the good with the bad. Like the Pistons/Bulls did with Rodman. Let him be goofy and always have his back. To be honest- i'd be more worried about PJ than I am about Lance's problems if we sign him.

As far as Waiters, I'm not to concerned about his "issues" either. He and Kyrie butted heads, but that happens from time to time on losing teams (ie. Tyrus and Silas shoving match). He has shown grit and the ability to GO OFF and score buckets at times. He has that "MJ, Kobe- killer instinct" in his eyes. I like his game. both Waiters and Lance have it

If that were the offer I would jump on it chemistry issues aside. Shorter deals are less risky and that would be an ideal length IMO

I mentioned the possible chemistry issues. Many of his buckets were all 1on1. But let's be honest he's a lot better then Hendo so I'd get over it real quickly!

Not really interested in Deng. I'd prefer Lance like a lot of you would if we HAVE to spend the money, but I am concerned about the chemistry issue. Deng wouldn't be a bad 2 yr contract rental to help be a good mentor for a player like PJ.

Unfortunately in this offseason we lost out on the two guys I really wanted, Livingston & Hayward.

So now my secondary FA wishlist is basically not spending our cap space.

PG: DJ or Hinrich

SF,PF: Marvin Williams (I'm not a UNC fan, but think he would be a good complementary piece)

- I'd also explore the trade front with the Cavs for Waiters.

I'd much rather have Ramon than DJ, and I think he's still available

And it isn't a bad deal for Stephenson, it gives him a chance to prove his worth and if he does in 3 years he gets the mega contract.

    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
    • Justin Fields’ fifth-year option was declined by the Steelers in April. Without a new contract, he will be a free agent in March. I am pulling for Bryce Young to look good the rest of the season, but if he doesn't, how many of you would be on board for the Panthers to try signing Justin Fields?
