Target sees the Redskins end game

Me neither

Regardless of where you stand on the issue, team owner Daniel Snyder has taken an 'over my dead body' stance on changing the name. And no one can rightly force him to do so save maybe the NFL (who probably won't) so I seriously doubt it happens easily, if at all.

I'm not sure, but I'm fairly certain the government (specifically the FTC) could, in theory, deem the company name as offensive and force a change.

Damn that's just sad. I hope that store has to send them all back to the warehouse.

I was listening to a radio show on the whole Redskin name change stink.

According to the show, polls taken by larger Native American groups did not find the name offensive and really didn't care.

America, the only place where someone can be offended for you and stand up for what's right?

Those "polls" have already been proven to be pretty much worthless. This was covered in one of the other lengthy threads about the name.

What % is it ok to offend? Or are you implying that no Native Americans are offended?

100%.

As a genius comedian once said, offense is taken, not given. They can choose not to be offended and just go about their lives.

They're just as valid as the "polls" saying the name is offensive. The difference being the elite minority in Washington has decided to make this an issue, therefor those polls saying the name isn't offensive has been deemed "worthless" as you put it. Its jut a matter of power balance. The people "offended"(the elite in Washington) have more ruling power than those that aren't offended(i.e., the non elite majority of the country)

Any idiot can see this if you just educate yourself. Its not difficult. All these "social justice" issues play out the EXACT same way, EVERY time. Ruling minority elite vs the common majority. This particular issue isn't the first and it sure as hell won't be the last.

I wish I liked the Redskins even the littlest bit, but I don't, so at the end of the day I don't care what happens to their weak ass team, but I am tired of the ruling minority elite in Washington picking on the rest of the nation.
