Vonleh observation / concern

Just read through this post... Fast twitch muscles CAN be worked and there are MANY "sluggish" bigs that come into the league, learn the game and have lots of success. The most recent prime example is Andre Drummknd. He can into the league and was fat and piss poor. Now that dude has developed into a monster. He is one of many. This thread is a joke. From here on let's just be honest. Nobody can honestly asses a player after their first entire NBA season let alone a first preseason game.

Vonleh started much lower on most mock draft boards and started flying up them after workouts. For now and probably until 3 seasons from not, I'm gonna take the NBA scouts opinion over yours. I hope that doesn't offend you. They have been wrong before. I'm sure you have too. I'm also sure that their workouts with him said a lot more than your viewing of summer league game one.

And I am gonna have to put this on instincts. Just seems a bit slow in reacting. This goes for offense and defense. Which is probably why he didn't do a bit better at IU.

Yes. That's why it's been said that he's not ready to be completely relied on, because he's "raw." The potential is obvious, but he was "raw" in college, so of course he's going to be even more so in the NBA this season.

From what I saw before I fell asleep, I thought he played with pretty good energy. He didn't look afraid to me, which is all I needed to see. He'll be fine, especially once he gets bigger up top.

Zero concerns from me about his game.

Vonleh is not raw in the conventional way ala Biz. Vonleh being a guard and having a growth spurt is quite skilled with the ball. Jumper, handle, coordination are all solid to great for someone his size.

I never mentioned Biyombo. Vonleh is 10 times better than him already.

Didn't someone say yesterday in one of the threads that the Hornets had the best draft in the league?

After last night's embarrassment, don't think I'd be saying that.  :startle:

Would you like me or someone to post summer league performances from the past in relation to NBA success (or lack there of)?

Summer league is nothing more than a glorified pickup game.

Still do not like to see our players play poorly though. That was fugging ugly.

That was the point I was making. Biz was raw, Vonleh not so much.

Vonleh is like Zeller, just needs to get more assertive and adjust to the game speed and NBA talent.

The skills are already there.

He's still raw. There are degrees of rawness. Raw does not automatically mean Bismack level sorry, lol.
