Bosh Returning To Miami

Recommended Posts

They don't have to. All Miami needs to do is build a competitive, all round line up. Fix the weaknesses they had on defense, and try to become what we have - a tough defense. With Wade, Deng, Bosh and Gasol, they have scoring in that line up, and will have from their bench. It's not as sexy as having LeBron or Melo, but to had two very good players to play alongside two all stars, that is the foundation of a competitive team.

Deng and Gasol are both injury prone and inefficient. Gasol inefficient because of his age and Deng inefficient because he's inefficient and takes bad shots. Neither of which are worth the money, especially coupling old and broken Pau with old and broken D-Wade. If Miami, would not want.

If Deng was so good, don't you think he'd perfom halfway decent in D-Rose's absence? The only time he was good (and made that all-star game) was when Rose was on the court playing on an MVP level therefore taking any legitimate focus off of Deng. In fact, during the Rose multiple year injury debacle, Deng was so incredibly bad that the Bulls actually flirted with going to rebuild mode by trading him for draft picks and Andrew Bynum's non-guaranteed contract until they realized that Jimmy Butler and Mike Dunleavy were wings that were complimentary and versitle enough to win them games.

Cleveland traded a first rounder for him because they were so fuging desperate for wing scoring to get them into the playoffs in the dreadfully bad east and what did he do? Suck. That's what.

Miami is better off sucking and trying again through the draft.

Wade, Pau, and Deng are all going to miss extensive time just out of pure history. And then what do they have?

Yeah... except they still owe picks. Ideally they could rebuild from scratch, but it isn't an option.

That's an awfully long post to write based on faulty information.

Heat got a pick from the Sixers on the books and sent it to Boston, and they owe 1 more pick to Cleveland (top 10 protect.

Here's a little lesson for you:

Majority of traded picks in the NBA are what is called "protected." If you suck and are in the lottery, you keep them and you typically don't owe them until you're good.

Awfully stuck up post to write based on faulty information.

But if I am not mistaken, they will forfeit their first round pick if outside of top ten in draft. If in top ten, they keep it. So, they will be just good enough to lose their chance at a top pick.

It's not protected forever. If they go the full tank route, it's a very real possibility they lose a top pick to Cleveland in a few years. That's a nightmare scenario. Getting high picks is hardly a guarantee of becoming good and not getting high picks in the following years- I don't know if you follow the NBA much but look at the Cavs and their #1's over the past few years. They made the smart choice- they can field a competitive team and make the playoffs in the awful east. Heck, a top 4 seed and home court in the 1st round is hardly out of the question.

Signing 34 year old broken Gasol, re-signing 32 year old broken Wade, and likely overpaying an ineffective Deng all while paying Bosh...that's right BOSH, a 5yr/118 mil contract...is very Brooklyn (aka stupid) of them.

It's unsustainable. And as far as Cleveland's #1's, you are referencing one #1 pick in Bennett in the worst draft since Shane Battier. I think Tristan Thompson has been very serviceable, Dion Waiters has been good, Kyrie Irving has been an all-star, and Andrew Wiggins is a possible superstar. So no, your argument is null and void.

Cleveland's most recent problem was that they signed Andrew Bynum last year in an attempt to go to the playoffs and were forced to get rid of him because he refused to play for them. This caused them to trade for Luol Deng and give up a 1st round pick which was a massive mistake as Deng was injured (as always) and sucked. So basically they signed Bynum all to give up a 1st round pick, when they could've had LeBron this summer if they'd have just waited one more season and not attempted a playoff push by signing Bynum. And for the record, Cleveland is a special case in the free agent signing era because no other team with Cleveland's market size and reputation had a chance in getting LeBron except for them because they are his home team.

The Heat already showed they weren't going to rebuild when they gave Bosh 100 mil, so that train has left the station and it's a massive mistake. And they will get nothing for it.

Yes, I follow the NBA plenty.

Bosh was a 25/10 guy before Miami. He may not be worth that much but its close honestly.

Bosh has never averaged 25 and has only averaged 10 thrice in an 11 year career. He's worth Big Al money, not signagture NBA superstar, put butts in seats money. Any love affair for him makes no sense considering he never won games as a #1 guy and doesn't do diddly poo defensively.

According to ESPN, Miami is finalizing a 5yr/118 million dollar deal to re-sign Chris Bosh.

What is funny about this is that Houston just traded Lin a while ago to Los Angeles and now are getting nothing for it.

Any chance Houston makes a run at Bledsoe now? The suns don't need him and his defense would be a good addition for them.

I guess we will see if Bosh can be a number 1 option a good team. He never really won anything in Toronto, but my feeling is he has matured a little bit since then, and his game is definitely different. Even without LeBron, that Miami team should be a playoff team in the eastern conference.

What is Bosh thinking?

Could've have the same money and play with Harden and D12.

Houston might pursue Gasol now.

He's thinking Morey just hands out max deals to anyone he can and wheels and deals players like it's real-life 2k. For all his hype, Morey has now struck out on LeBron, Melo, and Bosh, all of whom decided to go (or stay) in worse situations.

He sees that James Harden and D12 aren't exactly known for being the best teammates.

And he gets paid and gets to play the "hero" on a playoff team in the East in a place he loves playing.

    • I find it more like now that I have been forced to watch Young so much it isn’t as much of a shock to my senses.   Desensitized they call it.   For real, it just looks normal almost now. Where the first game of 2023 I wasn’t sure what I was looking at it was so out of bounds for NFL type play. I literally couldn’t make sense of what I had seen vs Atlanta that first week.
    • Lynch in SF. Great is subjective but he has done pretty well there.
    • Sure, except Stroud has the ability to stretch the field with deep passes. He did that often last night with ease, but couldn’t connect on many due to being flustered by the defense. BY9 gets flustered and can’t throw screens, let alone even think about any deeper passes. Stroud would’ve changed the franchise and done more with the situation last year. My thought at least.    the hope is that last year showed tepper that he needed to step back from football decisions. There’s a positive in most situations and maybe we’ll see a new tepper in the near future.
