Here's the problem I have

If your kid starts showing signs like this, you would seek help for him/her because you care about your child's well being.

However, being that this is a professional athlete, people are making multiple excuses for a guy that has continually showed his true colors.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge UNC fan and I want nothing but the best for P.J. However, he needs some help.

If you say otherwise you either don't care about the well being of others or are an obvious homer.

He would have to change to actually doing suspendable offenses as he has yet to do that.

Fighting is a suspendable offense bud.

Not to mention as a parent, I hope you wouldn't wait for your kid to actually do something stupid before getting help.

If I showed signs like this, I'd hope that my parents would get me help before I ended up doing something stupid, not once I did something stupid.

You have a point but what needs to be said is IF PJ understands this and knows how to stay clean then I have no issues with it.

For example my best friend does weed. I do not do weed. I have plenty of unsavory friends, but that doesnt mean I indulge in what they indulge in and have stayed out of trouble my entire life.

The difference is that P.J. may not be as strong as you, and to be honest he's probably not.

Gerald Henderson is a pathetic scumbag. And you don't diss him.

Gerald Henderson is a very high class guy that has done a lot for the Hornets organization. I'm not a big fan of his game nor his contract, but to call him a "pathetic scumbag" while defending someone that has made more than one bad decision (he has been on the team 2 weeks), made the news for the wrong reasons, and done nothing but distract the organization is downright foolish.

That would be assuming on our part. Something my father and grandpa warned me about.

So far he has stayed the course. So until proven otherwise I will give him the benefit of doubt.

How has he stayed the course?

He was caught with possession of drugs, driving without a license, there was a gun present (without a license). He's punched a high school kid playing pickup. Any normal parent would have gotten the kid help after the first incident that looks a lot like a drug deal.

And if that's not enough he loaned a car to the most troubled player in the NFL who just happened to be bailed out of jail by the same convicted felon that rented P.J.'s car for him while he was at UNC.

I understand that by technicality he didn't break any laws but he broke NCAA rules and if you can't follow a simple school rule then you probably won't be able to follow the rules of life.

Plain and simple.

By the way like I've pointed out before, just because you aren't convicted doesn't mean you aren't guilty.

You associate with trouble, you will find trouble. If you find trouble as frequently as PJ does, it's only a matter of time before that trouble takes your career.

This kid needs guidance right now. Not excuses.

This is a great post.

The people you associate yourself with rub off on you and are a good reflection of your character.

So far Hairston had been associated with a convicted felon and one of the most troubled players in the NFL.

He definitely needs to reevaluate the people he has surrounding him, at the very least.

    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
    • Justin Fields’ fifth-year option was declined by the Steelers in April. Without a new contract, he will be a free agent in March. I am pulling for Bryce Young to look good the rest of the season, but if he doesn't, how many of you would be on board for the Panthers to try signing Justin Fields?
