PJ's Agent not certified

Most kids coming out of college wouldn't even know how to do that. That is why they put it on the teams, give the teams updated agent lists every two weeks, and fine the teams if a mistake is made, but not the player.

So how do most kids have "actually agents" when deciding to enter the draft??

Plus let's add in the fact this guy has been with PJ since he was in the D-league.

No team has ever hired a agent for a draft prospect.

Teeray what team has ever hired a agent for a draft prospect before that prospect has even been drafted???

When has that ever happened? ?

Team's don't hire the agents, but it is the responsibility of the team's to verify an agent's standing with the NBAPA.

That is why they are sent updated lists every two weeks from the NBAPA, why the team is fined and not the player, and the NBAPA regulations also says that, because the NBA is in charge of reviewing player contracts.

I do agree that is also on the Hornets to verify P.J.'s agent.

Assuming that we talked to Morrow before drafting Hairston, you would have thought we would have done a background check on him.

Nobody gives a poo until they send the contracts to the NBA.  I doubt most teams verify agents until they are about to send a contract to the NBA for review

I was trying to find another example of something similar to this and so far I can only find one instance in the CFL where an agent negotiated a contract that wasn't certified.

Players are not a member of the NBAPA until they sign their first contract, and there can be confusion over the certification of an agent. Some leagues waive certain agent rules for rookie contracts specifically because of this fact.

This is truly a rare thing, but that is likely because you wouldn't gain anything by lying about being a NBAPA certified agent.

It is interesting, if he has indeed been with PJ in the NBADL, I imagine those contracts go to the same governing body, so if Morrow is indeed not certified you would think that should have been discovered by the team in Texas or the NBA when reviewing the contract.

Also, the NBAPA does the background checks for the agents as part of the certification process so team probably assumed there were no issues.

Association is a crime when drugs are involved bud... I'm very familiar with the law as I have interned for the department of justice for NC and have interacted with multiple lawyers.

A misdemeanor is still breaking the law... it doesn't matter what the punishment is, it's illegal. Drinking raw milk is illegal, the punishment isn't high, but it's still illegal.

It doesn't matter what level of play he is at, rules are rules.

All signs point to Hairston starting the fight. The video will be released soon enough, but with his current track record; he does not deserve the benefit of the doubt.

That is incorrect. If the drugs are found on an individual THEY are in possession. Not everyone in the car.

Now if the drugs are found inside the vehicle not on a person and everyone denies it is theirs then all could be charged for possession. Then that would have to go to trail and a jury / judge would decide.

Does driving without a license get NBA players suspended? If not I could give a poo.

All signs points to him not starting the fight as their were many eye witnesses and thus would have been arrested on the spot. And really, getting into a fight in a pickup game. Who gives a poo.

He easily deserves the benefit of doubt as he has yet to ever been convicted of a crime or suspendable offense.
