Four Teams have Expressed Interest in Andre Johnson

The reason for his cap number being so high is that he has restructured it several times to help the team.  His original contract was quite favorable for the team.

While I agree with you that his cap number for this year and the next two are quite high I still don't feel he is the major reason for the teams lack of talent.

I'm not defending his decision to hold out.  My only point is that his contract has been quite fair to the team and in no way is the "major factor" in their lack of success.

Though the Texans have $10 million in cap space right now, trading Andre Johnson would result in as much as $11 million in dead money.

What is your point?

There's virtually no way they trade him.

He either reworks his deal or they make him play under his current contract and cut him in the next few seasons. Their starting QB is Ryan Fitzpatrick, the only other viable WR they have outside of Johnson is Hopkins, and JJ Watt will be an FA in 2016.

Though they may have some cap space right now, it isn't that much looking at the big picture.

I'm not the one making the demands. He is. The simple fact is that if he wants to win so badly, and wants to show his ass to do it, he is going to have to take one for the team, and no that does not mean asking for another restructure so he get even more money up front.

As for your silly false insinuation at the end, you sought me out and quoted me, so don't get all pissy because we don't see eye to eye.

Lol you're naive as fug

I am not sure why people think they can't afford to trade him. Releasing him would create cap space for them in each of the next three years.

Yeah...I was thinking about it all wrong. Im not sure what kind of math I was doing.

    • First of all Sooners fan? Mods? Second if you think someone needs a specific reason to hate Texas you don’t watch real college football.
    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
