Four Teams have Expressed Interest in Andre Johnson

To be fair I shouldn't even be in this thread. I don't see us making any form of a move on AJ unless he AND the Texans make us an offer we can't refuse (a 5th+ round pick, no more than 3 mil a year).

If he wants what is on his current contract, no way we even entertain that idea. We have too much talent that is younger, better and more deserving of that money.

If we are willing to spend that money on a big name receiver I think it makes more sense to make a play next offseason in free agency.

Even so, I still don't see a wide receiver as what makes or breaks this team. If this was a stud olineman in the twilight of their career, this would have my attention. So long as Cam is protected this year our wideouts will surprise everyone. We have a nice mix of youth, vets, possession guys, red zone guys and speed guys. Once preseason is over the coaching staff will (hopefully) have an idea on how to put these guys in positions to succeed.

Exactly if he was the same caliber player but a RT not WR I'd be full guns for him. Like everything though we have to wait and see

Let's say cap doesn't matter and we end up getting this guy. Hour does that change our receiving corps? Are we suddenly a threat in the passing game?

Hell yeah we are a threat in the passing game. AJ and KB on the outside....it would be ridiculious.

Houston's local beat guy (McClain) just stated that the Texans are NOT trading Andre Johnson. I believe there's now an article on NFL.com.

Of course they don't want to but even with McClain saying that there's no telling what will happen tbh. He can say they won't but he's not in the organization so they could. It's all bluster till someone makes a move

He's mad because his team can't find a QB worth a damn, but he conveniently ignores the fact that the majority of the Texans salary cap is tied up on him. Want better talent around you? Take a pay cut. Until then sitting out just makes him look pretty bad. That's all there is to it.

We all know Andre is a high character guy.  Any team would be lucky to have him.  Yet I wonder like the TheRed mentioned, could him sitting out might negatively impact how teams view him?  We all understand very well his reasons for wanting to leave Houston, but perhaps him refusing to show up for work could be seen negatively.  Of course even if that were so, teams would still trade for him if their cap could handle that contract.

D.G. doesn't bite on these kind of deals .....even more so with no cap space and a draft pick involved. Better chance of digging up Andre the Giant and propping him up st left tackle then the other Andre signing here.

He's been a GM for one full year. You have absolutely no clue what type of deals he bites for

Yeah I'm totally gonna give up the money I earned giving my all to the team and leading in almost every franchise receiving category. I'm selfish for keeping that money when the franchise can't get it's poo together to get a good to decent qb. I'm the asshole for wanting out or keeping my money.

What fantasy world do you live in?
