This might sound crazy to some people but if we aren't able to land Hayward, I think we should take a step back and relax.

Personally (if we don't land Hayward), I would try to develop the young talent on the roster (Walker, Hairston, MKG, Taylor, Zeller, Vonleh, and Biyombo).

My reasoning behind this is, if we are able to develop our talent we can better understand where we need to make significant upgrades in 2015.

Here's just a few options...

- Replacing Walker with Goran Dragic

- Replacing Zeller with LaMarcus Aldridge, Kenneth Faried, Thaddeus Young, or Paul Millsap.

- Replacing MKG with Jeff Green.

- Replacing Henderson with Monta Ellis, Klay Thompson, or Arron Afflalo.

I'd be perfectly fine with just giving Jameer Nelson a MLE and then just signing some other point guard to a one year deal and rolling with what we have.

They aren't giving a big deal to anyone under 24/25. So most of that list is useless.

Hayward got his deal because he's

1. 24 and can grow with the team.

2. Already a 16-5-5 player

3. Still has tremendous upside

You know this how?

I'm sure if Aldridge wanted to play in Charlotte, he would get a solid deal.

The reason Hayward is getting this deal is because we felt the need to make a splash and we felt he was the best fit.

If you look at this free agency, you will see that beyond James and Melo this class is pretty porous. Next years class is much better and there are quite a few more impactful players in next years class than there is in this years class.

1, based on a couple things said by the team pls the writers saying similar things.

2. Type of players cho drafted were once again project players that need to grow.

3. No point in signing a max offer guy who's older if it doesn't get you a ship.

Hayward was different in that he would be able to grow into the contract, makes teammates better and would help keep Jefferson and Kemba here.

I didn't say a max deal...

Just a larger deal. I'm not a fan of max deals to begin with.

Hmmm... I think Daenerys and Jon Snow battling on dragons for the iron throne

Ice dragon is the victor.  Dany becomes the villain

The son of both ice and fire prevails.

    • According to the talking heads of the sports world, this is a pretty meh QB class.  Sanders and Ward are the only two with first round buzz, but the rest are blah.  Take that for what you will. Let's see how Bryce does in year three.  That's just where we are.  Patience is the key here.  Players need time to develop.  They can't develop if they don't play.  Bryce has made some really good throws, but he doesn't look like CJ Stroud.  That's going to be his point of comparison the rest of their careers.  The ball doesn't explode off Bryce's hand, it's not a cannon ball shot out of a cannon.  He's not going to break a 70 yard run.   Bryce is going to have to continue to make good throws and make plays.  Part of that is going to depend on the play calls.  Part of it is based on the skill players.  A couple drops picked up yesterday and it's a win and Bryce throws 1-2 more TDs.  A completely different story. It's been a crazy year indeed.  I just want to see Bryce continue to develop.  To see XL become more consistent.  To see JT fully recover (not play this season if he's not healthy).  I want to see Coker continue to make plays.  I'd love to see Brooks get more touches and Chubba continue to hammer defenses. Then this approaching offseason, let's go back to the D and work on fixing it.
    • Prime is already gone boss.  Nothing left for team Sanders in college football.
    • Justin Fields’ fifth-year option was declined by the Steelers in April. Without a new contract, he will be a free agent in March. I am pulling for Bryce Young to look good the rest of the season, but if he doesn't, how many of you would be on board for the Panthers to try signing Justin Fields?
