For people questioning the Hayward offer sheet....

I looked this kid up this morning, admittedly not knowing much about him.

Many folks are just looking at his numbers and drawing conclusions without seeing the real reason why he is getting this kind of attention.

Don't look at his numbers.... look at his trends.

In four seasons his points per game, steals, rebounds and assists have gone dramatically up. Last year he had a breakout year, his stats took a huge leap forward. He has the kind of year that grabs the attention of GMs around the league that indicate a player has arrived. Throw in the fact that he is only 24 and it is easy to see why the Hornets like him.

Two years ago he had 213 assists. Last year he had over 400. I like that. Take a look at the NBA champs and how many of their finals points came off assists. The NBA is once again trending towards actual team play and away from 1 on 1 street ball, which I love.

I hope the Jazz decide to let him walk, but I doubt they will. Anyways, this is a good indication that the Hornets are moving in the right direction.

People are really concerned about his declining 3 pt numbers. Part of the problem is him forcing shots, considering he was/is utah's top scoring option. However, draft express pointed out he changed release in which is left hand (more noticeably his left thumb) stays on the ball too long when he shoots which forces the ball off a bit. I don't think it would be that hard to correct.

G. Hayward is a good player and I hope in the end, he ends up on our roster. I remember watching him that year when Duke and Butler made it to the Championship game. This kid is special and would be a good pick up with this team. He has familiarity with Al and I think he will be a good team player for us. The Spurs showed us that good team play still bring championships and that what we are going for.

This is the exact reason Jordan wanted Chi to handle contracts. With his experience Cho can create loopholes that make it difficult to match. If one of these loopholes is what hampers Utah's plans on matching it's a move well played.
