Rick Bonnell is my favorite Beat writer/reporter. Always friendly, never fails to answer a question or help me out. I'll agree something is wrong the past two weeks. I don't know what it is. Maybe he has had something happen that he didn't mention. Not acting like himself at all.

Did you catch his meltdown when we let go of Higgins? You would have thought they were moving the team to Seattle. It's obvious that Higgins was one of his only sources in a tight-lipped organization, and his accusations of how we appeared dysfunctional and Higgins deserved better were a complete overreaction like something I would see here, not something I expect from an NBA beat reporter.

He has tweeted about how much he hates covering the free agency period presumably because since he is a beat writer he is not privy to the information that national guys like Woj are able to get. On top of all that, he generally tweets like a guy that doesn't enjoy his job. It's one thing to be impartial about what you're covering, it's another thing to be a wet blanket about everything as GC covered a few posts ago, including the change to the Hornets.

I was a little ticked off when he was pissed off about his vacation being ruined over PJ Hairston's incident. I'd love to have his job. He is tweeting less and just ranting when he does. People are asking me 20 times more questions on twitter over the past two and a half weeks. I think they are looking for news and answers elsewhere.

Bonnell pisses me off because he always has pooty comments about Cam and Luck during football season.

Whenever Luck has a good game he will post something like "remember when people said they would take Cam over Luck? Debate is over"

Or something sh*tty post like that.

Now, I generally don't really care what most people think about Cam and Luck, although clearly Cam is better ;)

But for some reason, whether it is Bonnell or Gantt or whoever, it bothers me when local guys poo on our own teams and players. I get that they don't want to be total homers, but what is the point in thrashing the home teams?

Gantt is the worst about it. Just one shitpost after another

Idk, I've always thought Rick was cordial for the most part on twitter.  He's answered a lot of questions I've asked on there and been very friendly/affable for the most part.  But, I also remember several times since the second incarnation of our franchise that he's been somewhat of a grinch for fairly unknown reasons.  It's like he goes through cycles and when he's pissed, he takes it out on anyone...  He can get quite snappy.

I don't know what his deal is, but it does get old.  I mean, complaining that your vacation is ruined because you have to write about NBA basketball?  LOL.  YOU GET PAID TO WRITE AND REPORT ON NBA BASKETBALL.  OH NO!  WOE AS ME!  that's a joke...  I don't know what his deal is right now...

People often forget the business aspect of the league and get hung up on figures. Just because he agreed to what it would take to possibly get him out of Utah apparently he's only in it for the money. I've decided to leave that silly debate alone.

He's in it because of the money, not only for it, like I said multiple times.

I seriously still don't get why we're arguing position. The distinction of 2 guard and small forward is purely for people to be able to follow the game easier. They do pretty much the exact same thing.

Keep believing that nonsense.

The Jazz are punk ass bitches for waiting all three days. From what I read earlier the only thing they'd be on the hook for until they match is his qualifying offer. Whereas, we are on the hook for the full amount offered until it's matched. So basically, theyre keeping us from moving forward for three days and hamstringing us from signing anyone else, simply by being jackasses.
