Hayward agrees to sign

Damn

Seems about right if you ask me.  Dallas has some leverage over Houston because they are still holding out hope for Bosh.  If Bosh takes his time that puts a lot of pressure on Houston to make a decision with no knowledge of what the roster will ultimately look like.

what makes you think this? Hayward is a RFA and Utah openly stated theyd match any offer. Why would we come in low and make it easier for Jazz to match?

Utah hasn't said anything about matching anything. That's all rumors. The only thing concrete tied to Hayward & Utah is that his agent said he's been in talks with Utah all week & they've been trying to work out a long-term deal. Unless Hayward's agent or Utah themselves say it I'm not buying it. Everything else is just rumors.

He couldn't come here for 13 million, if we offered what Utah offered, it would have just allowed them to match for less.

Yes, Hayward said "Pay me a max deal because I really want to come there and Utah will match if you don't."

Sure.

I'll believe that Hayward "really wanted to come to Charlotte" when someone tells me he would've come here for $12M, like Utah was offering. Then a comparison can actually be made.

Right now, he's coming because he's being paid max. All that's clear is he'd rather be in Charlotte than Cleveland, if Cleveland was really also offering him $63M.

Great argument.  6'8 SG is likely as ineffective as a 6' one.  Hayward is a wing with an NBA handle.  As is MKG.  No reason they couldn't start side by side.  They are actually a fantastic complement.

Are you that dense?

The point is NEITHER should be playing SG, but of course you can put any player anywhere. The fact of the matter is SFs tend to get more open 3s than SGs do. There is a difference between 2s and 3s, which is one reason why Hayward's numbers dropped last year.

If he signs great, step forward.

If Jazz resign, we grab a teir down, still make playoffs, and possibly make a move next season.

Yes!!

And Utah looks stupid paying a max contract not making the playoffs when they could have done that for 10 million less.

You have no idea how restricted free agency works.  Thats pretty obvious.  He is not free to choose a team.  So your thinking he would just come he for less is very much incorrect to say the least.
