Hayward agrees to sign

Recommended Posts

You know what though.  This is the only way we have a chance to get him.  I do think it is too much, but if we gave him a more reasonable contract it would have been matched in 2 seconds.

We are basically calling the Jazz's bluff.  The Jazz have a serious decision to make here.

Still not sure I like it, but fug it, If this is the guy we wanted this is how it had to be done to give us a chance

Too much money IMO (I've been wrong before though)... I preferred Stephenson but a Stephenson/Hairston combo doesn't seem so good off the court.

Guessing they signed him to play SG?

I thought he was a SF

Definitely too much, but it only way it has a chance to get done. Jazz has to match this huge offer to keep him.

This gives us best chance to get him. Anything reasonable would have been matched in 2 seconds

They have $30mil in cap space. Who else are they gonna spend that money on? Either way they're gonna look like morons.

They'll have either let their 3 best players walk away for absolutely no compensation within a 12 month span, of they'll be paying Hayward nearly $15mil more than he asked them to give him a few months ago.

Dolts.

    • he has barely suited up for 50% of our games.  It matters pending how much of our cap and resources go that way.  If he cost in the ballpark of a Surtain? No thank you.  Let someone else  And as far we know what happens when we let talent walk away or trade them…..that’s a mixed bag.   should we of paid Norman, Bradberry at CB? They probably had earned the right to be called better than Horn at that moment of the decision.  Do we regret that? Do we regret Star walking? Can take it back to Spoon.  Flip side is probably Peppers.
    • We need to get better in the redzone. And yes that is an issue that involves all the moving parts. Oline receivers QB and playcalling. But Bryce himself has to lead the charge on that or surely we could face another blowout in one of these upcoming games. Every team no matter how good they are is going to face an opponent that imposes their will on them and requires the same in response. Those are the games where we have got to capitalize on drives. Honestly I get the sense that the Chiefs on some level overlooked us.  So while I am pleased we were as competitive as we were it certainly remains to be seen if this was the beginning for something new or just an anomaly. I think that's a perfectly fair take at this juncture.
    • He is a diva, even with Baltimore winning, he will cry and pout and ask to be traded. He cares about his numbers and stats for his next contract. Ironically, his best chance to showcase his ability was with us, now he is just an afterthought.
