Where are the action movies?

I got an early screening ticket for John Wick tomorrow night.

No clue what to expect, but I'll give a non - spoiler review in case it meets the standards of true action.

 

 

 

I've heard real good things about John Wick. 

 

 

Should be pretty badass.

I'm 27 B) . If you are a fan of action movies and you haven't seen Zulu, then you're just lazy and age isn't an excuse. That film set the standard for "Outnumbered and Surrounded" military action films. I've seen homages to it in 300, Starship Troopers, Platoon, even Blackhawk Down.

 

Would never deny that Zulu is a great film.

 

It's just a little 'before the time' of many on here :lol:

Fwiw, the battle of Helms Deep in the Two Towers was deliberately reminiscent of Zulu.    At least that is what Peter Jackson said.

GAH! I can't believe I forgot the most obvious one. Good call. Lots of visual similarities.

John Wick was just...wow.

Never would have expected that from an October release.

No spoilers, but the casting director nailed it. Keanu was more than believable and Dafoe had an incredible arc.

Saw Fury tonight, more like Saving Private Ryan in a tank, albeit without most of the sappy stuff. 

 

I thought it was very well done, but very brutal.  Definitely not a family movie.
