I took this past Thrs and today around July 4th off. Stayed at the casa as part of my fam traveled to the beach with some friends and I'm getting daddy daughter time with my youngest.

But these past couple of days I have done jack. Slept like I was back in college and ate, drank and watched world cup and did as little as possible.

Will hit the beach for 5 days or so late July and a couple of weekend trips to the coast but all local.

How do some of you take time off? Travel far or local or random? Stay at home and chill or a little of everything?

Summer vacations suck as far as I'm concerned. Our winter and fall vacations are by ourselves and we try to go somewhere different all the time. However, the summer vacay is dedicated to her family, which are all within 20 minutes of each other between Shallotte and Sunset Beach. 4 different family houses, 4 different priorities and 4 very different family personalities.

When we load up and make the 3-hour drive, we know it's a long week of getting pulled in many different directions- no relaxation, no down time, no choice... ughhhhh......

I can relate. My father in law passed away Apr 2013 and he lived in Wilmington. So we would go see him 4 or 5 times a summer and hang at his place. But we could scoot down to Wrightsville easily but yeah, we were having to get time with so many relatives it was tough.

This is the first year we have had to actually plan a beach trip. Without doing it in Mar or Apr I see June and almost all of July is booked.

I have more traveling jones than money at times. I want to fly out West and I want to go to Costa Rica and I want to go to Euope and Outside magazine doesn't help. lol

Family has a place at Holden Beach so the wife and I visit there a few times during the summer. Went for 7 days earlier this summer, inlaws were there, and I got one really good fishing trip in.

Went back this week for 4 days, got no fishing in (due to weather). In-laws there too.

Got a trip planned at the end of July for 4-5 days and hope to get a couple fishing trips in, but we will be entertaining some other folks too so who knows.

I may sneak down the second week of August for a couple days by MYSELF so I can get some damn good fishing in. Fishing will most likely suck in that hot weather, but at least I'll be able to go.

Really enjoy my time down there and don't really crave doing anything else, especially if it's just me and the wife or a couple fishing buddies.  I have to work while I'm down there (usually a couple hours per night) but since it's all online, no biggie. Then when I get home I catch up with a few days of "full time" work.

Summer is kind of a vacation for me the whole time.

I have had friends stay at the house from all over the past 7 of 10 nights, and more will be here on Friday for the weekend.

Going to Asheville for 3 days in a couple weeks to get away from it.  My house is like a hotel June-Sept.

Week at the beach with the family during the summer each year.

Several week-end trips to Charleston, etc with the wife each year.

A week in the carribean with buddies for a scuba diving trip about every other year......heading to Grand Cayman for this year's trip.  No wives....just drinking, sleeping, and scuba diving all day.

My girlfriend's idea of a vacation is going somewhere warm and relaxing.

My recent vacations (without her) including scuba diving in the Puget Sound on Labor Day, Mountaineering in the Never Summer Mountains, playing on glaciers in Glacier National Park, cross country skiing, and teaching marksmanship to Mexican Drug Cartels.

We did the staycation thing around Christmas time. It was weird being at home and chillin for almost 2 weeks, nice though.

I prefer winter vacations over summer vacation. We have a trip to Disney/Florida coming up and I think we are tacking on a 1/2 week at the beach.

    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
    • In my dream, we somehow luck into a top 2 pick and someone wants a QB bad and doesn’t want anyone else to jump them. Somehow we’ll probably screw up the picks anyway, but it would be nice to do even partially what Chicago did to us. We’d have to lose out, which is a decent possibility unless Tampa is resting. We need Atlanta to stay within a game because Atlanta beat Tampa twice. The rest of the draft slots are who knows because Jax plays the Raiders and then Tennessee and you never know who will rest starters. I think we are top 7 unless we somehow pull out 2 more wins. The 4 win teams have higher SOS and there is only one 5 win team with the same SOS. If we win 1 of 3, we still should stay in top 7. If we lose out and the Jax games work for us, we can easily be top 3.
